The handle as a 1/2 hole on the side and on the top next to the cold shoe, is another 1/2 hole that you can attach this to. It can then be used as a shoulder strap instead of just around the neck. Makes it more comfortable to use it as a shoulder strap. I don't think I need to upgrade to the shoulder strap one as this works just as well and I feel more confident that it doesn't have the quick release, which you never know can malfunction.
