This serum is lightweight and doesn't feel greasy. I've seen my skin become smoother and my fine lines less noticeable since I started using it.

I never thought I would say this, but onion (Cepa), as a skincare ingredient, is surprisingly gentle, soothing, and healing. Assuming you are not sensitive or allergic to Allium Cepa (onion) extract or Centella Asiatica (related compounds), I highly recommend giving the Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa-Cica line a try. Especially if you have sensitive or easily compromised skin. Lucky for me, I had the opportunity to try two products from the Nightingale Damage Recovery Cepa-Cica line: their Cepa-Cica Cream and Cepa-Cica Ampoule. Since I could use the two together, I'd like to detail my experience using them both in my review. However, you don't need to couple these with other items from the same line to glean the benefits. They seem to pair well with other elements in my routine. So separate or together, they are lovely products. They're made in Korea under the ipse cosmetic co, ltd., umbrella. The ampoule and cream are fragrance-free and suitable for all users. For reference, I'm over 40 with sensitive, fair, acne-prone, combination skin. I am product-reactive prone, which means if something doesn't suit me, I will almost immediately develop mild red freckling of Rosacea along the tops of my cheeks. This compromised reaction usually takes a few days to heal. During this, I strip my routine down to the basics: unmediated (non-active, non-exfoliating) washes, toners, moisturizer, and SPF. I recently had this reaction to a toner I was trying, which had papain enzymes (exfoliants) that were just too much for me. After discontinuing use, I decided to treat my compromised skin with the Cepa-Cica Ampoule and Cream from Nightingale. To my delight, within a few short hours, the flush of the redness and most of the swelling was gone. These do not contain "actives" like exfoliants (e.g., BHAs, AHAs, PHAs, acids, etc.) or high concentrations of vitamin C, A, or their respective derivatives. The Nightingale Cepa-Cica is a "damage recovery" line to heal and maintain the moisture barrier. The Nightingale Cepa-Cica Ampoule is suitably packaged in a 1oz clear plastic pump and retails for $25 as of this writing. The bottle/pump doesn't feel cheap. The main ingredient is Cepa from Red Onion (65%). The transparent pink hue of the gel inside comes with an insert disclaiming that the colorway is all-natural, and while it may change over time, it does not affect the efficacy of the product itself. I may refer to this as a "serum" throughout my review, though this says ampoule. The terms are often interchangeable. With Korean skincare's introduction into the US market, more products emerge with names like "serum" and "ampoule." Is there a difference? Sort of. Traditionally, an ampoule is a supercharged serum (like this one) with higher concentrations of active ingredients. Serums are often nutrient-rich, providing skin-friendly benefits, and address specific skin concerns like acne, inflammation, or hydration. So you can see where it is easy to confuse the two. When using serums and ampoules, the rule of thumb is to apply them by skin concern and product weight (runny vs. heavier gel or cream) after cleansing, toning, and essence. I digress, the serum is an extremely lightweight gel, non-irritating, odorless, and aside from the pink tint, it does not have added colorants. Two pumps are plenty to coat your face and neck evenly. Doesn't leave me greasy, sticky, or shiny. Ingredients: Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract*, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Panthenol (B5), Water (Aqua), Carbomer, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Tromethamine, Ethyl hexyl glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Coccinia Indi ca Fruit Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract*, Chamaecyparis obtusa Water, Anthemis, Nobilis Flower Extract, Madecassoside. The * indicates the two highlighted compounds Cepa and Cica. The Nightingale Cepa Cica Cream comes suitably packaged in a 1.69oz white polyplastic tube. Almost everything is in Korean, but they do have translated ingredients on the box. Highlights include the *Cepa (first ingredient), followed by meadowfoam seed oil, squalane, shea butter, panthenol, three forms of hyaluronic acid, adenosine, and *Centella Asiatica. Again, no added fragrances or colorants. The cream dispenses in a medium-weight, odorless, white lotion that melts into the skin. It, too, does not leave me looking greasy or shiny and is very mild and hydrating. I take about a nickel-sized amount and spread it evenly across my face and neck at the end of my am and pm routine. During the day, I follow up with SPF. Overall I like the use, efficacy, and afforability of these products. Based on this experience, I would likely try other items from the Nightingale brand.

Great hyaluronic acid serum. I've had a hard time finding a good one for a good price and I think this might be it

I rarely write reviews, but this cream is excellent. I used Water Bank moisturizer prior and this cream provides better lasting hydration. It feels nourishing.

This moisturizing cream is rich and hydrating. It is a little greasy if applied heavily but absorbs pretty quickly. It's great for sensitive skin. I had some redness and sensitivity due to a chemical serum I used that had acids in it and this cream didn't sting or burn at all. It felt soothing and super soft. I like that it doesn't pill or ball up and it makes my skin feel like silk. I don't know if it will do anything more than hydrate my skin but I like that I have it on hand for times when my face needs a little TLC due to overuse of Retin A or acids. This would even feel good on a sunburn. Because I have only been using the cream for a couple of weeks, I am rating 4 stars. I would like to see if it softens fine lines, firms, or does anything else besides sooth and hydrate (not that those two things aren't awesome). It's a very good cream for dry skin as well as for sensitive skin. It may be too heavy for those with oily skin however.
