In this case, the squeeze IS worth the juice. (Or, these are the ones to get.)
My wife and I have been conducting a decidedly unscientific experiment with packing cubes. It started with a set of Amazon Essentials Packing Cubes , which did a great job of keeping our suitcases organized. But that got us wondering: Could we do even better? Specifically, could we compress our clothes enough to free up some valuable suitcase space? We decided to put three different approaches to the test: 🔹 Cheap—excuse me, inexpensive—vacuum bags, specifically these [[ASIN: Travel Vacuum Bags with USB Electric Pump]]. 🔹 Much more expensive, supposedly higher-quality vacuum bags, specifically these Travel Vacuum Bags with USB Electric Pump . 🔹 These Gonex compression packing cubes. I'll spare you the suspense. Both types of vacuum bags were terrible, although for entirely different reasons. I've detailed their shortcomings in separate reviews. The Gonex cubes, on the other hand, were the clear winners. We're still using them, and we've bought more. What makes them so good? For starters, they're remarkably lightweight and add almost no bulk. Despite that, the material and construction feel sturdy enough to withstand years of travel. The compression zipper works smoothly and consistently, without the fuss and frustration of vacuum pumps. Perhaps my favorite feature is that they retain their rectangular shape. Whether they're lightly packed or stuffed to capacity, they remain neat, predictable rectangles that fit efficiently into a suitcase. No awkward lumps or oddly shaped bundles to wrestle into place. And as a bonus, they're surprisingly inexpensive and come in a wide variety of colors, making it easy to organize different types of clothing or assign colors to different family members. After trying all three approaches, our search is over. The Gonex cubes deliver exactly what we wanted: better organization, dependable compression, and less wasted suitcase space, all without adding unnecessary complexity. Sometimes the simplest solution really is the best.

nice bags for the price.
just as described. was able to roll up a lot of clothes into each of these bags, zipping up the compression zipper was a little difficult, using my knee will zipping, but when finished, it was good. Great for travel, we used them for a cruise, which allowed us to take a few extra clothes.

Convenient compression cubes for travel
I've used these on several trips now, and I think they are a decent choice if you need some compression cubes. They work well. There are two zippers, so you first lay your clothes in them and zip up the top. Then you zip the additional zipper to compress them even further. Note: You cannot stuff the bag so full that it's hard to zip the first zipper – the second zipper will not zip. I can definitely fit more in my suitcase than I could before I had these cubes. The sizes have a good variety. It helps keep my clothing organized during trips. The handle is also a nice addition. I've washed them several times and they seem to hold up in the wash. My only issue is that one of the cubes got a one-inch hole on the seam after my first trip. It may have been my fault for packing the cubes too tightly. I can still use it even with the hole.

Great way to organize for trips
These worked very well for a recent trip. I like to unpack my suitcase but keep my clothes in these. Easy to organize your clothes. No worries about your clothes touching where someone else’s dirty clothes were. They also help you avoid overpacking. Quality is nice and the zippers worked very well.

Preventing contents “slouch” is more important than flattening
1. Very inexpensive for the bag count. 2. Very high quality irrespective of pricing. 3. In between typical polyester weaves and the ultralights in terms of fabric thickness; I’d call them a worthwhile upgrade in sturdiness compared to the fabrics that are so thin they are translucent. 4. Zippers seem high quality (use your thumb or finger between zipper panel and cube wall while compression zipping to avoid snags). 5. These might compress the center of an ultralight down jacket, but DON’T compress the central portion of clothing that is already pretty flattened out or thin, such as polo shirts and cargo shorts. 6. WHAT THEY DO EXCEEDINGLY WELL is compress along all four edges which stops “contents sag” - regular cubes aren’t tight enough and my contents used to shift and sag to the cube bottom, defeating the used of cubes upright in my day packs. 7. A selection of colors helps code contents, if the variations in sizes aren’t enough to do that. Only Possibly Significant Negative: Except for maybe “vacuum” sack packing cubes, all edge-zipper style packing cubes sill only slightly compress the contents away from the perimeter, while significantly narrowing the perimeter. This means shifting is stopped, but the cubes leave rounded off edges with some waste space on the sides of my packs. Of course we are never lucky enough to have perfectly matching sizes of cubes to packs, and most are tapered on top of that, so you’ll have to figure out what to do with the resulting dead spaces here and there. A minor complaint: the cubes don’t open as wide as I’d like, so I have feel the fit as I fold and add layers to them. “Secret” bonus benefit off packing cubes in general: If you have to rummage during a security secondary inspection, having stuff in cubes makes repacking MUCH easier, on the fly and in a hurry. I’ve never been asked to unzip a cube when, for example, they are looking for a forgotten water bottle or power cube (they just feel the cube contents by hand without an unzip, assuming they find the questionable object the x-ray scanner highlighted.

Wonderful compression and quality
These compression cubes are a great value. The number and sizes of cubes for the price is great, even before you consider the extra items. The cubes hold a lot of clothes per bag because of the depth [3.54"]. The clothes compress well in them, so that I can fit a lot more in my luggage. The fabric is good quality, as are the zippers. I chose this kind with solid fabric because I have found that the kind with mesh do not compress as well. I am very pleased with these compression cubes. Great buy!

Just ok.
They work, they compress your clothes. Not particularly fond of them though. I bought them for my recent trip to Europe. The clothes went in ok but when you zipped up the compression zipper it would bring down all the perimeter edges but then the clothes would bulge toward the middle of the cube giving it a ball like shape so then packing multiple cubes rounded in the middle left too much empty space and was awkward to pack. I ended up no zipping up the compression zipper but empathetic using them as organization cubes keeping things tidy. Unzipped they hold a rectangular shape. A bit pointless for me

Super good material- my now fav
(Picture is of med and small size of 4 ct) These are so durable, material is very sturdy and zippers too. I’m using these for a 4 mo backpacking trip and I can’t alr tell they are soo nice. Extremely compact. In the medium one I have (4 shirts, 4 shorts, 2 swim trunks) in the small one (5 underwear and 7 pair of high ankle athletic thick socks) I still have more to pack and have the other organizers so I am so set. (- also pic shows of the small and med in a 35 L backpack)

Excellent quality zips
Bags open up and then when you use double zips they compress the contents makes for a tidy suitcase/bag wish they had a label area so you know what’s what

Can't live without when travelling.
I have used these on two trips so far and I can't believe I've ever travelled without these. It compresses my clothes so they take up less space in my backpack. Best of all, they keep my belongings well organized. The quality is great and the fabric and zippers seem durable. Sometimes the zippers get caught in the fabric if I overstuff them, but I take that as a sign that I'm packing too much.

Good product does the job
These packing cubes are excellent. My first purchase of this type of product, I decided to go for one with good reviews and not necessarily the cheapest. My research showed that the compression ones were worth getting. These are good quality, good sizes and for the first time EVER I did a three-night interstate trip with hand luggage only. I am a convert.
