Just had to go into PS5 settings and format it which was a matter of seconds. Yes, can take a while to copy games to and from the drive especially if they're 75gb - 100gb or more but not the worst problem in the world. For all those claiming it's not compatible with PS5 or that it can only install and run PS4 games from the storage drive, anyone buying or owning a PS5 should be well aware that if they want extra storage which can run PS5 games from storage then you need to be buying internal storage to mount inside your consoles expansion slot. Otherwise it's standard rule apply for PS4 versus PS5 software. Also, the packaging VERY clearly states both that it IS absolutely compatible with PS5 AND that PS5 games will need to be moved into console storage to play them. I cannot understand how anyone could find this external storage to be either incompatible with PS5 games or even complicated to use. It really is 'plug n' play' and in order to store anything on it you need to go through the menu system which prompts you to format it before you can use the storage. So there is nothing in the slightest difficult or that isn't clearly explained via packaging or console instructions and menus. This is a very, very good way to increase PS4 and / or PS5 storage capacity for a very good price.
