Power probe is well made and works well. I have used many times since purchasing and is a great tester.

I had a broken wire on my linbus from the battery to the smart alternator and this kit worked spot on for finding the break. Traced the break using this kit in around 10 mins and soldered and repaired the break in the cable. Very happy for the money and saved a trip to the garage for someone else to fix it.

I originally purchased the V200 Pro for automotive electrical diagnostics. Unfortunately, after a few months it developed a fault and stopped working correctly. I contacted VDIAGTOOL customer support, sent them a couple of videos showing the issue, and they quickly confirmed it was a faulty unit and arranged a warranty replacement. � Throughout the whole process their communication was excellent. They were always quick to reply, polite, and genuinely wanted to get the problem resolved as quickly as possible. The replacement arrived promptly and has been working perfectly ever since. I'm an HGV roadside technician, so my tools get used regularly, and it's reassuring to know the company stands behind its products if something does go wrong. I found this to be a very helpful tool to sort out problems with wiring. This made finding a broken wire in a harness much faster and easier than with a multimeter, loose wires and alligator clips. I first used it to find a break in a wiring harness on a motorcycle which you can see in my video. I found the break in less than a minute with the tester and without pulling everything apart. When using the probe the screen turns green showing you're touching a ground. A hot wire turns it red and shows the voltage. It also has a handy feature which allows you to momentarily put voltage to the tip of the tester or ground it to check the wiring or the device. This could be really handy if you're checking trailer lights. And with the 2- 20' cables, it give you a lot of distance to reach a long distance. The led lights on the tool are nice when you're trying to see in dark spaces without having a flashlight. It will do voltage tests for AC/DC, polarity, continuity and diode tests. But for me the most useful is for finding broken wires or checking continuity over a long distance. I've spent a lot of time in the past trying to track down a broken internal wire on a harness and this will make short work of it. It takes power off the vehicle battery using alligator clips provided or the cigarette lighter plug from the kit. It has a built in breaker which resets after about 15 seconds, so if you accidentally hit the wrong polarity you won't damage the tool. But you do need to be careful if you use the probe to push power to a device. You would want to be careful around automotive computers with the probe and pushing and voltage. I even used it for an application it wasn't really designed for. I needed to trace some wires in my house walls and ceiling. Using a 12 volt power pack I was able to trace both ends of the wires for a continuity check using the V200 tester. Of course I had the breaker shut off and the wires were disconnected from their terminals before I tested. I was able to figure out which wires went where in minutes. Much quicker and easier than what I would have done in the past. It would be nice if it could be used for higher AC voltages. But overall I found it quite helpful for sorting out DC wiring on vehicles. And it can also be used for low AC voltage checks which would be helpful with automotive applications. I'm quite please with this tool and I'm sure I have friends that will want to borrow it or buy one for themselves!

5 Stars – Puts Electrical Gremlins on Notice As a diesel mechanic, this circuit fault finder has earned a permanent spot in my toolbox. It makes chasing down electrical gremlins a whole lot easier, especially when you’re dealing with wiring harnesses wrapped tighter than a Christmas present with hockey tape. Instead of unwrapping half the harness just to find one broken wire or open circuit, this tool helps narrow down the problem quickly and saves a ton of time. Whether it’s on trucks, trailers, or equipment, it takes the frustration out of tracking down those annoying faults that seem to hide for a living. A great tool for anyone who spends their days fighting wiring issues. It won’t stop every electrical gremlin from showing up, but it sure makes finding where they’re hiding a lot easier.
