Worked great
My first use was putting in a new mailbox, they are heavy but they are not inappropriately heavy. They dug into the dirt quite well so they are appropriately sharp, and I was able to make a 2 foot hole in just a few minutes, comfortable to use, feels like high-quality, the perfect size. Recommended.

Great tool!
I can cut through Georgia clay, which is harder than concrete. I LOVE these!

Has held up well.
This post hole digger seems to be of reasonable quality, featuring a decent gauge of metal and sturdy fiberglass handles. However, when fully opened to lift out [dry] sandy soil, the handles spread quite wide. This design limits how deep or steep the hole can be. Compared to my previous post hole digger, the issue arises because the curved blades are shorter, requiring a greater angle for the clamshell to fully close. If the manufacturer extended the curved blades by an inch or two, it would significantly improve functionality. 6 month edit: I'm raising from 3 star to 4 star because the tool has held up very well. The fiberglass wood core handles have taken abuse twisting in Florida's sandy and palm root filled soil and have not cracked. The jaws have remained aligned and the bolts, with nylon nuts, have not loosened. The tool is slightly heavy but that's the toll for heavy gauge metal. Regarding the spreading and hole mouth size, digging a two foot deep out hole gives a tight vertical 8 inch hole. Digging down 2.5 feet gives about a 15 inch mouth. A 3 foot deep hole gives a 2 foot mouth. Another plus is the tool has protectors in the metal end to keep you from smashing your knuckles into each other as you close the handles together at the start of a new hole. I didn't fully appreciate this until i used a post hole digger wirhout them.

Very well made!
I never thought that I would be writing a review for a post hole digger, but here we are. I purchased this some months back but didn’t need it until yesterday, never even removed the plastic wrapper. The tool is very sturdily built and digs better than any tool that I have used in the past. The handles are very comfortable and make digging a breeze, so nice that I had to come back and write a review. You can't go wrong with these...

an excellent tool
I used this to replant some plants that I had attempted to use a shovel for. The issue was a fence made the angles very awkward for the shovel and it didn't allow me to dig deeply. So I remembered helping my dad with fences when I was a kid and he had a post digger like this but obviously old-fashioned. I bought this for the non-wood construction after reading many cheaper ones broke that were made of wood. This tool dug the holes I needed perfectly!
