This portable scissor/box cutter knife is simply dumb in the best way possible. All the quality is in the blade and the design. I was really disappointed by the quality of the plastic handle/body. It's very thin and light. I was expecting a solid thick plastic body akin to a Fisker scissor handle.After holding it for the first time, I was annoyed with the blade geometry, it (or more likely, ME) only likes to cut in 1 direction/orientation. Because of the blade geometry, you're literally just cutting with 1 half of a scissor blade. The blade likes to wander off the seam if you're going the wrong direction. It's a little difficult to open the sides of boxes also.REGARDLESS, I love this thing. I use it way more than my always handy pocket knife (probably because I don't bother to sharpen anything often enough) and honestly love how it can just sit in my key bowl because it's so small and out of the way. I fully understand why this thing won all the awards it did in Japan. It solved such a stupid small problem in an excellent way and in true Japanese design fashion, I don't think it went any further than it needed to go. Thick quality handles be damned, this thing is so awesome.
