Finally....a real cordless chainsaw....stands up to years of daily use.
I have used this saw daily for over two years. I own two gas saws, a Husqavarna Rancher 460, and a Poulan Pro 16" saw. This cordless saw is equivalent to my Poulan Pro which I will probably never use again. I especially like this saw because it is quiet....plus it works all the time. I live in a ranch community and people are living here to get away from noise. This saw allows me to collect fire wood in places where I would othewise be disturbing the tranquility of the community. I am stunned at the battery life, and how quickly it can be recharged. By the time the battery runs down, I am run down as well. And ready for a break. Toss in another battery and your good to go. AThe other thing I like are the safety features. The saw is light and easy to handle and this really helps reduce stress. The chain brake works well. The other thing I really like is the ability to adjust the chain without needing tools. Just make sure you check the tightness periodically. I put a couple of drops of blue Loctite on the threads to help keep the hand tightened bar retainer from loosening. I cut through some huge 24 inch white oak today. Normally, this would be a job for my Rancher 460. While it took considerably longer with the Greenworks, it was much more pleasant and I was free from noxious exhaust and forest raping noise. I will follow up with an update after a month or so of use.Update: I use this saw routinely since initial purchase and especially during the winter months in NC. My house is at 4k feet in the Great Smokies in NC. It is heated with an outdoor wood boiler. I feed my furnace with the plentiful seasoned dead fall which litters my property and ranch community. On a single charge, this saw will fill the bed of my Tacoma shortbed truck. I use the saw several times per week and it has never failed me. Rarely do I ever use my gas saws anymore except for really big stuff. I bought an extra battery for the saw but rarely use it. My back runs down before the saw battery. My neighbors never hear me cutting, and I can cut in areas where I might otherwise be disturbing somebody. Even if it fails on me...I will immediately purchase another because it makes cutting so much more pleasant and safe. Tip: I spray the chain with DuPont Chain Saver....my chains stay sharp even when I am cutting soiled dead fall. This Teflon product is simply amazing for this purpose.Update: Been using this saw for several years now. Even bought a spare to keep on the shelf if they ever discontinue this model. All I have had to do is sharpen the chain. I put a new chain and bar on this year, and also a new chain sprocket. Probably didn’t meet to. I spray the saw bar with DuPont Teflon spray. Unless I hit a rock, chain works all season and stay very sharp. I bought the 80 volt version of this saw, but newer use it since it is heavier and does not seem to run as long. Also got the 8” greenworks pole saw. This saw is incredibly handy and adds a lot of safety when you are cutting any wood. With the pole saw, you can stand away from cuts that might be under spring loading. This is important when cutting dead fall which whipsaw you when you least expect it. That 40v pole saw.is super handy and much safer for clearing trails and overhead stuff.

Up to the task!
I've used this chainsaw several times, enough to feel comfortable writing a review. Firstly, it has plenty of power, I've cut through 12 inch trees with it...no problem. If you're sawing down a tree or two and don't mind taking a break, then one battery will probably do. Heavy use means a second battery. The way I use the saw, two batteries means between 2 - 3 hours of cutting depending on how far I want to deplete the battery and the diameter of the tress I'm cutting. It takes about 1.5 hours to return 3/4 charge to the battery and 2 hours to return a full charge to zero.Bottom line. The power is there. It's easy to use and will fit the bill for most homeowners. It's quiet. It's smooth cutting. It's friendly for first time users. In my opinion, it feels like a well built, quality tool.A second 4ah battery is a requirement for all day work, but occasional users or those doing small jobs, like cutting firewood for a camping trip or cutting down very small trees, will probably find one battery pack will probably work well.*UPDATE* Downgraded to FOUR STARS. Excellent saw, took down some big trees with it this weekend, but the Tension Knob has plastic teeth. It's already starting to wear out. Luckily, it's a cheap part...only $3 online. I continue to recommend the product, but a extra tension knob isn't a bad idea, just google Green Works Part 34108583. In the tool's defense, I'm pretty sure I over-tensioned the chain.*UPDATE 5/28/2014* I've used this chainsaw EXTENSIVELY in the last six weeks. This morning, I had a number of logs to saw up. I started with a pile of longs cut to approximately 4 foot lengths, stacked 3 or 4 feet high and about 8-10 feet long. Big stuff, many were at least 1 foot in diameter. I needed about three charges to get through it all, but I started with two full batteries, so that meant stopping only briefly to put the spent battery on the charger while the full one was running. (Batteries never actually went to zero. I recharge when the indicator light shows a low battery.) The saw powered through everything, I had zero problem cutting it into firewood sized lengths.I replaced the chain tensioner that broke and haven't had any more problems. It's clear to me that I had over-tensioned the chain before, that said, the part should be made of metal, but it's easy and cheap to replace and I now have a couple of spares if it happens again. As far as I'm concerned this is the best electric chainsaw on the market.*UPDATE 4-25-15* I've been using the saw for a year. I broke the tensioner last year by over tightening the chain (user error), it's been fine since. I've already cut down at least 5 trees with the saw so far this year. Still going strong. Excellent saw. I continue to recommend TWO batteries and TWO chargers, it really speeds up big jobs. Bumping it back up to 5 stars.

Good chainsaw at a good price
This lightweight chainsaw is well made for use around the house. The chain is sharp, but saw has limited power - As long as you don't push the saw too hard, it performs very well. It is simple to assemble and easy to use.

Amazon seller will not respond to my refund request. Wasted over $400 on a defective item.
I ordered this green works 16” chainsaw. Once it arrived it would not tighten the chain . The knob for tightening the chain is defective . I have requested a refund from the Seller and have not heard back from the seller YEERAS in over three weeks. I am left with a lemon and have no way to cut my winter firewood, and have been ripped off over $400 .Amazon has no option to contact them to make a formal complaint. The seller has left and I have no way to get my refund for a no good , defective item that will not cut wood.
