I believe some of the parts are of plastic material (or acrylic), but there are grades of plastic—And this one does Not look cheap!! I would describe the Lumen output as med-soft with a concentrated, ambient light that illuminates the vanity sink area and above, as well as light comimg from the sides. Without being too overwhelming, harsh—or washed out. Just enough to give the appropriate light distribution for my bathroom (med. size). Integrated LEDs. The price was reasonable. My handyman installed it Very Easily—though it was pre-wired. Didn’t take him long at all. Very Happy with this Stylish purchase!! Janice L
