I'm 50, very active, and had been experiencing more soreness in my elbows, hands and knees. It was getting so bad that the soreness/stiffness was making me not want to exercise anymore. I researched collagen as part of my master's program and eventually figured out there are over two dozen types, but for our concern, types I, II and III. I & III is prevalent in many types of connective tissue including the skin, but Type II is more joint specific. I took a bottle of this as directed for my knees (I have a torn meniscus) and, quite surprisingly, noticed that my elbows had stopped hurting. I finished the bottle, but looked for something a little easier since taking these meant I was having a glass of orange juice to wash down six capsules every morning, and then waiting a while to eat. I switched to a high quality powdered collagen that I could add to my hot coffee or tea hoping the same results would continue. Indeed, hair and skin quality did improve with the powder, but gradually my aches in my joints came back. I even wrote manufacturers why they wouldn't sell Type II as a powder supplement, but was told something nebulous like "Well, customers prefer capsules." I then actually kind of forgot about the Type II capsules. A few months passed and my elbows and knees and occasionally wrist began giving me problems and I was frankly a bit demoralized, thinking it would take me forever to warm up my joints before exercising again, and I saw I had a half bottle of this left. I took six capsules that evening with some tea (acidic) and six capsules the next morning with coffee (acidic). It wasn't 24 hours before I noticed an almost startling difference in my elbows and knees. "Wow!" was all I could think. I immediately ordered a subscription, and reasoned: a) this could be a placebo effect--but I don't care. Having my symptoms so vastly improved--whatever the mechanism--is great! Or b) Type II collagen is really that effective in joint function. I hope this helps.

I take 3 pills regularly. 1 tiny one, 1 daily vitamin that's around the same size as this one, and 1 fish oil pill that is bigger than this one. I've done this for years and years, no issues. I have taken antibiotics my parents jokingly called horse pills.Honest to God, this is the most miserable pill-taking experience I've had in my life. I gag. I throw up the water I wash it down with. Tried yogurt; that made it worse. Tried coffee, that put me off coffee for a week. I have to take them over the sink. They're so bad. But they do work.5 years of knee pain and lower back pain, and these four pills get me completely pain free until I go back to work, and have me pain free 2 days before I go back. Might not sound like much, but others with knee pain will understand how wild it is that I can walk up 5 flights of stairs to work and not have joint pain.So it is, with my deepest regret, that I must wholeheartedly recommend this product. God, I wish it didn't taste so bad. (I am Only clarifying how bad they are to swallow because if you can't swallow them, they obviously are not going to work for you.)

Five months ago I went through all the preliminary tests (MRI, x-rays, EKG, blood work, chest x-ray) in order to have left shoulder replacement surgery. I then decided to give Neocell Collagen 2 a try just in case I got some relief from it since I already had a partially used bottle. The pain had become so severe over the last year that it would wake me up at night and I was unable to raise my arm any higher than level with my shoulder height, and even that was difficult. After one month of this amazing supplement I was able to raise my arm straight up over my head which I've been unable to do for at least two years. Now, after taking only two capsules twice a day even though the directions suggest up to two three times a day, I am almost completely pain free other than an occasional twinge and don't even need a cortisone shot which I can have every four months rather than surgery as long as it helps. At 80 years old, not having surgery is awesome news. I am taking this for joint pain. It seems to be working in combination with some other things. This is easy to digest as well and has a very good reputation for quality control. If you are trying to choose, this is a good one to try. it has hyaluroinc acid and glucosamine in it as well, which has even worked well with pets, who have no preconceived ideas so therefore no placebo effect. That's important to know.

Been using this brand for years. It took me from walking with knee braces to knees I had in my 30’s.- I’m now 68 and back to competitive Raquetball. Miraculous. It took 4 caps twice a day but was well worth it to say the least. On my last order all of a sudden my knees were hurting again even with the 8 caps a day. I refuse to go to 10 or 12.“Shrinkflation” I believe is the word. I’d rather they raise the price than lower the strength. Sadly I’ll be trying other brands now. Wonderful while it lasted…

i've used this many times and without a doubt, the best one for my knee. it takes about half an hour to start feeling the benefits. i tried other collagen pills but they are not even good like these.serving size is 4 caps. will continue to buy these.* i do not use them daily rather only when needed.
