Does this camera have an external mic port? Could i plug in a rode mic?

The camera doesn't have an audio input, as such, however if you look at the ports under the cover there is a mini usb port. You can buy mini usb to female 3.5m converter plugs or cables for a few pounds. That way you can plug in an external mic :)

Which len is recommended to use for closer and distanced objects in general?

I use the 55mm to 250mm lens for distanced objects or scenery but I do things close up with my 18 to 55mm lens and for extra impact on scenery shooting I use the 10 to 18mm lens but I use the 17 to 55mm lens for night photography
