Dynex DX-UC104 4-Port USB 2.0 PCI Desktop Card

I am using this on WinXP and it works flawless. XP will install and the card will function with just default OS drivers installed as well, for those missing drivers buying used. But, the driver is also available for download for free via Dynex's Support section of their home website.Great card, fast speed, and very user friendly for novice users. True plug and play PCI card.

I purchased this to use on an old XP desktop with USB 1.1 ports. Once installed it accessed the internet video sites at slower speeds than it did before. In addition the audio was distorted. I read in a review that I should download a driver from Dynex which I did but it did not improve the performance. From there I tried different PCI slots with the same outcome. I guess it's a crap shoot with computer anything. If it works feel lucky - if it doesn't spin the wheel again. The real problem is the time wasted. I could have burned a five dollar bill with a cigarette lighter and had SOME fun.

Bought this card to replace a no-name 5-port USB 2.0 card that just died, but had worked well for approx. 10 years in my old circa. 2000 Dell T500 computer that had only USB 1.0 ports. Took the old card out and shoved in the new Dynex, upon computer/WinXPSP3 reboot, it was recognized without issues and it was ready for use. In a few tests, the Dynex card performed file transfers between one of my flash drives and a portable USB hard-disk at speeds comparable to my old card. At least in my case, a good buy at an inexpensive price from an Amazon merchant for less than $10 including shipping.

In short i needed a new pci usb card because my graphics card was blocking my pci express port that my old one fit into. So i purchased this one. It was simple to install and anyone can do it. Simply power down your computer and unplug it, take the side of the case off with the two screws in the back, plug this into a pci port and mount it with a screw, then turn it back on. and bam! Windows already knows the drivers. Couldn't be much easier. Not i have 10 ports on my computer and 16 if you count the usb hubs i use. (trust me you can never have enough)

My USB ports burned out, computer repair shop said to buy a new computer it would be cheaper. I purchased this USB card for a great price ($16.95), installed it in about 2 minutes, works perfect. I'm not a computer wiz and this was a super simple installation.

When I ordered it, it got here within 2 days. 4 days before it was supposed to get here. I installed it with an OS system XP and it worked perfectly, no software or nothing required, just a small screwdriver lol

Was a bit skeptical at first given the price of this card but with WinXP SP3 and an older SUPER-O dual XEON workstation without USB-2 this card did the trick nicely! Just dropped the card in a free PCI slot and fired up the machine. That's all there was to installation. No conflicts with on board USB-1 or other peripherals. USB-2 functions as USB-2 and the on board USB-1 remains perfectly usable for Keyboard/Mouse. All devices that require use of Hi-speed USB-2 work fine with card.

Works fine for a low cost USB port card. I recommend it to all for standard expansion. This was my first Dynex.
