Pure Jongo A2 Wireless Hi-Fi Adapter with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth - Piano

I added this to my existing hi-fi in my living room. I already have the Pure One Flow radio in the kitchen and have been using the Pure Connect app for sometime now, including subscribing to their Blue Music subscription package for unlimited streaming of music from their version of Spotify (£4.99 per month - no ads). Set up was extremely easy. Out of the box, connected to the hi-fi using the supplied RCA phono to phono cable and it was good to go. Booting up my mac, I logged on to it by selecting it's wifi network which then opened a browser window and allowed me to connect it to my existing router and broadband connection. Once this was done - it was simplicity itself to use. It of course works seamlessly as a multi room player in the Pure Connect app, switching between either the Pure One Flow in the kitchen, or the A2 in the living room was simple and easy to do. Yes, the app isn't the most intuitive app I've ever used, but once you understand it's layout, it's well featured and stable. I'm so impressed, I will be adding another Jongo speaker soon. My only slightly moan about this system is that you cannot stream different tracks to different rooms / speakers. You can only link one or more speakers together for one track. Of course, this is where Sonos scores over the Jongo system, but then again, Sonos is considerably more expensive. If you're not wanting to subscribe to access the Pure Music system, then the free on demand podcasts and catch up radio, not to mention the internet radio aspect is superb. Additionally, any music stored on your iOS or Android device is easily streamed to the network players. It will not stream from a NAS storage system - again, another slight downside against the Sonos system, but then again, Pure do not make this claim. You are ring fenced into Pure's ecosystem by using their app, but that is not surprising. Another bonus is the built in bluetooth capability. Being able to wirelessly send bluetooth audio to my living room stereo is a bonus. Of course, it's expensive if that's all you plan on doing with the device, but look at it as an added bonus to the wifi networking capability and multi-room audio ecosystem of the Jongo network and you're quids in basically. Additionally, you can send audio via airplay from the app (forgetting the Jongo speakers - so the app will allow streaming to airplay compatible devices - but I must be clear, the speakers ARE NOT airplay compatible). Well made, as you'd expect, supplied with basic RCA cables and a power supply - you really can't ask too much more of a £99.00 device.

This is a bit of a difficult one. Now set up , it works OK. Bluetooth is excellent, and for what I paid, I could not want more. However, Wi-Fi set up was really hit and miss. I kept trying and eventually it set up. No idea what prompted it to do so, but it finally worked. However, the Wi-Fi connection is also hit and miss. I can sometimes connect through the Apple app and sometimes not. And I've only managed to connect it to my phone. No other Apple or Android device will connect through wifi. Not a major loss for me, the app is not so good and I cant tell the difference in sound between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth anyway. Updated Oct 2016 - I now have 2 of these, and they are both still a little hit and miss from wifi. One connects to my main TV / XBOX / Music AMP and the other to a small cheap Tripath 2020+ amp. However, I can now usually pick them up with the iPhone / Andtoid app, but they seem to work every time with the Bubble UPNP app on Android, so it seems a software issue to me. Pure should sort this out. The Bubble UPNP app and Pure app both pick up my NAS drive (a very crude version from WD), but again, Bubble UPNP is more reliable, and with that app I can also stream my Google Play music through wifi on the Jongo. Some of the issues I have may possibly be related to the Virgin "no so" Super Hub I have. Note that I now find the Wifi sound is quite a bit better than Bluetooth, although both are still good. I can get sound synchronised through both A2s and also a Jongo S3 (via Bluetooth or wifi). This is still hit and miss depending upon whether I can access them, although you can make this feature automatic with "Bluetooth Cascade" feature - but I presume this is only if you use bluetooth. I still think that for the price they are very good.

So good I bought two.... ( and will probably get more ). I just wanted something that I could plug into a HiFi and stream bluetooth to it from various phones etc. I like the fact that this was (a) £19.95, and (b) it has proper RCA audio connectors. I have one in the Kitchen attached to a Mini-T amp and a pair of decent bookshelf speakers. This has got the be the cheapest and smallest way of getting (almost) HiFi quality in the kitchen, with the added benefit that anyone who walks into the kitchen can just pair to it with Bluetooth and play whatever they want.... I also have one in my office attached to a proper mega-bucks HiFi system and it sounds great ! - I can just stream Spotify or whatever to it.... It DOES have some more advanced features ( like you can stream to all Jongo's simultaneously through your WiFi network ) but I don't use this. As others have mentioned, the initial setup is a bit of a challenge - but I'm not sure you'd even need to do this if you're only using basic Bluetooth streaming... I did it because I wanted to change the default name that the device displays , I even managed to do a software update !! Persevere though as it's worth it. The first one took me 30 mins of head scratching... the second one only 5 mins... The key thing that worked for me was not to set it up through the PureConnect app - instead, after pressing the WiFi button on the Jongo - it will present itself as a wireless network. Connect to this new wireless network ( Jongo A2 xxxxx ) on your phone, then fire up a web browser on your phone and go to 'myjongo'. This is where you can rename the device and enter the password for your real WiFi network.... This works great. After this - When I fired up the Pure Connect App - it told me on one device that it needed a software update ( must have been old stock ! ) - and this when through fine. The other one did notneed any update. So in summary the setup is a bit quirky, but for me everything is working exactly as I want, and it's impossible to beat at this price !!

I contacted Pure a few months ago. I have the A3 and an S3 to extend listening to other rooms. The app stopped working and WiFi connectivity was never stable. I'm locked out of the app. Nothing works. Pure said they were working on the app to help owners of the jongo range and then.... nothing. They are not expensive but I still am left with £100 worth of useless Pure products. And they are still selling these here, unbelievable. You are buying from old ratings.... Beware no support from Pure and you are paying for them to clear out there old stock of obselete gear. Never buying Pure again, greedy no good shysters. Update 31st March 2020....I was contacted to say it was resolved back months ago. Wrong. Still no Wi~Fi connection no tethering to my S3. Just a bluetooth receiver thats it.

This is a great product, however it does need a little bit of patience to set it up. So stick with it, because its worth it. Firstly the delivery was outstanding from the 3rd party seller. The item arrived very well packaged and within two days of order. In total I have ordered three so far on separate occasions and all have arrived in the same manner. Now to the product ....... Setup, firstly you need to register the device on the network. Before you start I would suggest you download the app, you will need it. Setup from your phone/tablet and follow the instructions with the device, however turn off data and Bluetooth first as it will work better. Once you have connected it to your network, it will flash various colours and away you go ....... HOWEVER ! Be warned, the instructions do NOT say anything about the following important information! If it flashes red/green/amber continuously it means it is updating the firmware automatically, YOU MUST NOT PRESS ANYTHING UNTIL THIS STOPS. If you do, then you will have loads of extra work to do to get it to work. All of mine have done this, so I assume the update is necessary. However on my first one I spent an hour trying to figure out how to fix it, here is the the simple way 1/ Go to the Pure website look for downloads relevant to the Jongo and download the latest update. 2/ Format a USB stick and drop the file on to it (the stick must not have anything else on it). 3/ Plug it in to you Jongo and let it run. This will take up to 10 minutes and will flash all the colours, it is finished when you have a steady pulse on amber or green. Once you have got over this little (ill informed) task, you are good to go. The device comes with audio leads and plugs straight in to your stereo. Play music two ways, straight from the app for internet radio etc. Or via Bluetooth from you Google Play music collection. If you have more than one Jongo then they all talk to each other via WiFi so when you send music to one it will broadcast to all of them if you want. At the moment the app does not support Google Play from within the app. So for this you connect to one of the Jongos on the network and broadcast to it via Bluetooth, the Jongos then broadcast that signal again to all the other Jongos. All of them work flawlessly and in sync from room to room. This is a fantastic cheap alternative to Sonos and in my opinion better as I am able to use the quality stereo equipment I already have. So far creating THREE WiFi music zones for less than £100, which would cost almost £600 with Sonos!

Three stars because it will actually do what its supposed to do. Thanks to the top review on here I did manage to get the unit working after a firmware update. If it hadn't been for the information in that review ( and I didn't have a PC and a spare 16GB usb stick ) it would have gone back to Amazon as defective. On the plus side : * Connection is very good and stable for both wifi and bluetooth * Audio quality from the digital out is pretty good at 48KHz ( haven't personally used the internal DAC / analogue out) * Works with the Echo dot Negatives : * The 'off' switch doesn't seem to turn the unit off - just changes the power light from amber to green (isn't green usually on!?). * The ipad app is pretty dire and it doesn't recognise FLAC files. Major Negatives: A set up process that is not well documented, flawed, and will undoubtedly result in a non working unit for most people. No factory reset switch. Don't think I'll ever consider buying another Pure product after this experience.

I recently purchased the Pure Jone T4X for the kitchen and was pretty impressed with it. I was thinking of buying another for the lounge in order to give me a multi room system then saw this for a little over £30. I ordered it and attached it to my samsung soundbar in the lounge. It comes with basic cables but I ordered a cheap optical cable seperatly. Set up was straight forward and I now have the full multi room experience. I gave this 5 stars because it is pretty hard to fault. Some people criticise the pure app but it only took me around 5 minutes of playing with it to work out how to use it. It streams audio perfectly in sync between the 2 rooms. The main positive with the pure system over Sonos' version is that you can stream from any source via bluetooth to one speaker and then relay it over wifi to all other componants so that you are not merley reliant on streaming over wifi from pures own app. This therefore means that it works with apps such as iplayer radio (alhtough most of the content is also available via pures own app). No problems with drop outs and I've been using it for over a week. If using an opitical cable it even turns the sound bar on and selects the correct input. At £30 it really is a bargain.

There is a lot of reviews on here saying it's mince and doesn't work, and to be honest I fully understand their frustration, I was almost at the point of consigning this to the junk pile. But depending on what you want to use this for it's actually quite a good wee device once you get it going. Connecting: This was a pain in the a*#e! It took about ten attempts to get it recognized on my network. Not sure if this was the router or the Jongo though! Pure Connect: This app is worse than useless and no longer accepts new registrations. It keeps dropping network connection, I was able to play one song from my pc, once and only once so my advice would be once you have it on your network forget this even exists! Bluetooth: No issues here, I've been connecting using a usb bluetooth dongle on my pc. And this works perfectly fine no drop outs thus far. WiFi: This was the reason I bought this device, I wanted to be able to stream from my pc to my HiFi without using my phone or any other middleman device to control it. It does do it, but don't expect to find any literature telling you how to do it. First make sure media sharing is enabled on the device you want to stream from. Then make sure your Jongo is showing as a multimedia device in devices and printers, sorry should add this is from a windows 10 pc. This is where the Jongo becomes a bit picky. You have, as far as I can figure, 2 options. 1. open windows media player and create a play list, you can then "cast to device" , your Jongo should appear in a drop down menu. This will open a seperate player type window showing your playlist. You do however need to be careful as it will play mp3's and wma's but not flac or ogg. And it seems to be picky with wma and mp3, have had occasions where it comes up with an error adding them to the play list only to freeze the player, but I removed them, re-added them and they played fine. I don't think this is the Jongo though, plenty of people with issues with the "cast to" feature not functioning properly and microsoft not offering much in the way of resolution. 2. You locate the actual music files on you drive, right click and "cast to". This opens the same wee player as media player. If you want to add files to the playlist you can simply drag and drop into the "cast to" player window. At first I had issues with the "cast to" only playing one song at a time and not automatically moving onto the next song but after a while this seemed to fix itself. I was hoping to be able to stream all my files using wifi, but this is unfortunately not possible. If you have hi-res files you need to use bluetooth which negates the whole point. That being said I have this plugged into and old but good Sony amp and the sound quality still good enough for me. Build: No issues and for £20 it's a decent looking wee device, more than acceptable. Conclusion: Am perfectly happy with this, it suits my needs well after a bit of frustrating playing around.

Visto che è la prima recensione cerco di essere dettagliato. Premesso che ho deciso di acquistare questo dipositivo per collegarlo al vecchio impianto HI-FI di casa e ascoltare la musica da internet e i brani che sono sui mio smartphone Android e attraverso le altre casse della Pure ascolatare la musica nelle altre stanze della casa, tutti in modalità wifi. L'alternativa a questo sistema è quello della SONOS che tra l'altro conosco molto bene perchè è il sistema che ho deciso di adottare nella nuova casa e che funziona perfettamente ed è stato facilissimo da configurare. Ovviamente costa quasi il doppio. Ecco brevemente cosa è successo: 1) dispositivo arrivato puntualmente (fornitore puntuale e preciso) 2) installazione molto difficoltosa. Sono riuscito a collegarlo alla mia rete wifi (windows 7 e router Netgear) solo dopo svariati tentativi e 2 giorni di prove! 3) L'aggiornamento proposto del fimware è andato male. 4) ho contattatato l'help-desk della Pure spiegando dettagliatamente il problema, ma non ho ottenuto risposta ancor oggi dopo 4 giorni. In conclusione, sono riuscito a collegarlo alla rete e ora funziona correttamente. Per avere lo stesso sistema con la Sonos avrei speso 400 € con questo della Pure ho speso 150 €. Alla fine ho deciso di tenerlo!!

Je ne suis pas impressionné par le produit. English summary : disappointed. Wifi connection not available for computers (PC/Mac OS), smartphones only. Have to use Pure Connect app which is a pain. Wifi connection not automatically established; doesn't always work, slow to connect. Bluetooth features average or below average compared to cheaper Bluetooth only product (Belkin or the like). Le look est sympa et je m'attendais à un produit astucieux et bien étudié. Finalement, je peux envoyer de la musique Bluetooh en étant à proximité et avec des décrochages ératiques propre à ce type de liaison (qualité passable, latence...). Je voulais surtout le produit pour la fonctionnalité WiFi mais elle n'est pas disponible pour mon Mac (et je ne crois pas pour un PC Windows non plus). De plus, pour les smartphones Apple ou Samsung sur lesquels que je l'ai essayé, l'on est obligé d'utiliser l'appli Pure Connect sans pouvoir juste changer la destination audio sur le lecteur existant du tél. La connexion ne marche pas toujours et est pénible à établir : c'est long et pas automatique. Bref, j'avais l'impression d'avoir une liaison Bluetooth plus efficace sur le Belkin Bluetooh que j'avais acheté une trentaine d'euros il y a deux ans et la fonctionnalité Wifi n'est franchement pas impressionnante et pas disponible sur les ordinateurs. Je suis déçu.

Ich habe mir diesen WiFi Adapter gekauft, da die Marke solide wirkte und die Optik des Gerätes hochwertig erscheint. Das Gerät macht auch einen hochwertigen Eindruck wenn man es auspackt, die Problematik liegt in der Funktion. Die Bedienungsanleitung ist sehr schmal gehalten und gibt nur die nötigsten Auskünfte. Bei Fragen und Probleme wird sofort auf den Support verwiesen. Nun war es bei mir so, dass sich der Jongo nicht das Wlan Netzwerk einbinden lies. Nach mehrmaligem probieren, längerer Recherche im Internet und Update auf die neueste Systemsoftware des Jongo habe ich mich dann an den Support gewendet. Dort gab man mir den Hinweis das Gerät auf die Werkseinstellungen zurückzusetzen - dieser Vorgang ist aber in der Bedienungsanleitung nicht beschrieben...also erneut eine Mail an den Support. In der erneuten Anwort war das Vorgehen beschrieben - es funktioniert aber nicht! Da die Anworten des Supports immer mehrere Tage auf sich warten ließen habe ich das Gerät nun schon eine ganze Weile und werde nun versuchen es zurückzugeben. Fazit: Schönes Design! Funktion und Support vollkommen ungenügend!

Ottimo prodotto funziona una meraviglia per utilizzare il tuo hifi vecchio e per utilizzarlo assieme allo casse jongo arrivato in tempi rapidi con un ottimo imballaggio,non semplice da configurare.

La connexion Wifi ne s'etablit pas correctement et les coupures sont fréquentes. J'ai essayé le produit quelques jours avant renvoie la deuxième étoile est attribuée pour Amazon (et le vrai vendeur derrière qui l'ont repris sans poser des questions)
