Super User-Friendly and Visually Pleasing
This is a great gift idea for girls and their parents. It is full of life skills from the most basic (how to boil pasta) to more complicated personal skills (how to deal with group conflicts). The illustrations are great and the topics are bulleted or numbered so that it gets to the point and is easy to read and comprehend. I wish I had this when I was a younger me. At my ripe age of 60 I learned a few things, so it is relevant for all ages, or to read as a family. I appreciate the nod to certain classic topics like the importance of writing a thank-you note!

Wish we had this book 5 years ago!!
My daughter is 13 and I sure wish she could have gotten her hands on this book a few years ago. It's so informative and accessible. But even now, there are great tips in here for her age, around budgeting, bank accounts, emailing, etc. She loves a list, and it will be fun to go through the "Life Skills Checklist" to see how many she has already mastered and what's left to work on...hopefully not "Put out a kitchen fire".Love this book!

A wonderful resource
Sometimes there are things you don’t think of to talk to your kids about. Sometimes there are things they don’t want to ask. I love having this book around as a quiet resource for my kids. It’s easy to read and provides step by step instructions for many important life skills.

Accessible Info for Girls!
My daughter (age 10) and I devoured this sweet book, which covers everything from the benefits of making your bed to how to take care of your body and everything in between. It is written in a way that you can pick it up for small chunks of time, and interesting enough that it gets reached for again and again. Highly recommend!

Great resource
I recently sent a copy of Essential Life Skills for Girls: Everything You Need to Know to Thrive at Home, at School, and Out in the World to review. This book is good at giving the essentials and a bit more. The only thing that would have been better is if it had spots to write tips you learned from family and friends along the way so you would have the information in the right areas if you looked back. I learned from my kids that many of their friends didn't know how to do laundry, cook, or other things when they went off to college or moved out on their own and this would be great for families that may not be teaching life skills to their children or aren't sure if they know these essentials.

A Must Read Resource
What an amazing resource for teenagers and a guide for parents. This book is the first step to becoming a successful, functioning adult and member of society for teenagers. It's so great to have all this information organized and in one place. I'll be sure to have my sons read it too.

Cute book with short and sweet sections
This book is really cute and so smart. There are a great range of topics and the sections are short and easy to understand. It's great!Likes+ easily digestible "lessons"+ cute look with illustrations+ nice range of topics+ helpful life skills in a great formatDislikes- noneWe already have the companion book for boys and received this book for girls as well to share our opinion. It's been nice to compare and contrast the two and I'm happy to say, it seems that although they say "boys" and "girls" they include life skills for both and the differences come in the sections discussing bodies or hygiene. They aren't splitting these tasks by gender roles and include a wide variety of skills for both, such as sewing a button or tightening a screw. With graduation season, this has me thinking how smart versions of these books for the 18-25 set would be! They could definitely benefit from many of these skills!
