    I'm disappointed

*by T***0 on Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2019*

I bought these Bianyo markers, along with the full set of 70, for my daughter as a starter set. I liked that the markers could be purchased individually as well as in sets. In the past I've used Prismacolor and really like the colors and the ease of blending. What I'm most disappointed with in these markers is that they don't blend at all, once the color is on the paper that's it. It leaves jagged swooshes of color that can't be smoothed. The blender marker does absolutely nothing. The colors are also not great, the skin tones jump from ghostly pale to Trump orange in one shade. They're not realistic at all. It's pretty obvious in the picture I attached, which my daughter says looks like Taylor Swift as a hot dog. This was created using the skin tone set as well as a few from the full set of 70, and Prismacolor pencils, on Canson marker paper.

    Wonderful, But Use Good Paper

Someone on my Christmas Gift List specifically requested alcohol-based markers. I waited until the last minute, and these were one of the few choices I could get in time. I initially wanted a larger multi-pack but couldn't get one in time, so I purchased the skin tone 12-pack and the basic 12-pack. In fact, I actually got two of each, one for the person who asked for them and another for that person's sibling, so there wouldn't be any gladiator-style death matches over the markers. The only downside I've noticed so far is that the packs share three colors, so instead of getting 23 unique colors (the skin tone one comes with a blender), we got 20. Not a huge deal, but if you're shopping like me and are trying to cover the bases with two boxes, you could probably just get away with the one multi-color and skip the skin tones... unless your artist really needs the diversity of skin colors. Mine didn't. Half the time, "people" are half animals, so the deep browns and blues and oranges of the multi-color pack would have been fine. These markers were the hit of Christmas. The kids have not stopped using them since. And, I'm not going to lie, as a grown adult, I've already spent hours creating my own pieces, which, if I do say so, myself, aren't too shabby. Although, I apparently lost a coloring contest to a 10-year-old and 7-year-old, so... there's that. I should also note that I purchased special paper to use with these- a type that promised no bleed. The markers still bleed through the paper, but not through to the second sheet. So, as others have suggested, don't use these with a standard coloring book. You really do need special paper for them. Also, I just realized the multi-color pack is calling itself a "fabric marker." No. Not really. I guess maybe you could, but I wouldn't. I own fabric markers already and I don't think these would be a good choice for that, but on paper, absolutely. The big question, however, is whether they're fit for artists. I am not one. Prior to this, I don't recall the last time I drew anything. The 10-year-old who is a budding artist and tries out all sorts of products is over the moon with them. Some have complained about the blending. I'm not sure what they're looking for, but I used the blender on the skin tones and on some blues and it worked fine. I was going to share photos of our finished works as a demonstration, but then I realized there were real artists who have already done so. The quality of the markers/ color in ours is the same, but the artistry is not, so ours will remain hung on the refrigerator. A very exclusive showing, you know.

No marker for white people’s skin

*by S***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2020*

First of all I’m not an artist or anything like that, I bought these hoping they would be good for coloring people in my adult coloring books. Disappointed, there aren’t any appropriate colors for Caucasian people. I can color gingerbread people or darker skin colors, I’m not sure what number zero marker is for, it’s completely transparent, I guess it’s a blender marker? I don’t need that like I said I just wanted to color people’s skin colors in my coloring books. Starting to think there’s no such thing as a Caucasian skin colored marker. I guess all my people will be black, which is fine I guess just not what I was looking for.
