Top quality dependable tools

I bought this socket set with a Fathers Day gift card, so I took a lot of time comparing it to other socket / ratchet sets on the market. I am extremely pleased by the quality of this SK set. The ratchet itself is a fine tool and you can hear the quality when using it. The 2.5 degree arc was the best I could find on the market, and you really appreciate that in tight places. The case holds all of the pieces firmly in place, yet the sockets come out very easily when needed. I was initially impressed by the vanadium and chrome plating, but what sets the sockets apart is the discreet but visible markings that are different for the SAE sockets and metric sockets. The lettering for socket size is larger than the average, which is helpful. This 55 piece set is a few more dollars than the SK 51 piece set, but I chose it because it came with 5 more sockets, so there's little chance I come across a bolt that can't be tackled. This is one ofthose heirloom type tools that will last forever.

SK tool are always good quality for the money. Nice variety of sizes both metric and standard. I needed a small compact socket set for work and I can’t do the cheap Walmart stuff. The price is reasonable, and this set will last me for a long while.

Great set and a great price

Made in China, however I still give this 3'8" Drive Socket Set 5 stars. SK has been such a great domistic brand, and I have been using them for over 50 years! Although SK Tool Company has been purchased by a Chineese company, and makes their less expensive lines in China, quality is really good. The beautiful SK chrome (Super Chrome) is better than anyone else. This set has performed flawlessly so far. The 160-P ratchet is amazing. 160 distinct positions! Not sure of the ultimate strength of this design, but it works great. Love the Super Chrome look with the attractive green band on the sockets. The case is also really good. Yes, blown plastic, but great latches, and works well. The sockets can be a little tough to remove in cold weather, but that is the same with all plastic cases I have tried. With a one sided tray, they really dont need the sockets to "snap in" at all. The removable top makes it into a tool chest tray, and is a really neat innovation. Highly recommended.
