Top notch quality and exceptional customer service
I'm using this filter in a small municipal-type environment where the water is supposedly safe but tastes awful. I was immediately impressed by the build-quality. Everything is tight and solid, and no sharp edges. The filtered water tastes good, which was my main reason for buying it. It uses ceramic filters, which I understand are the best option for single stage systems (IOW - better than carbon, but not comparing to reverse osmosis, etc.). I would be at five stars with just what I've shared so far. But on top of everything else, the company demonstrated remarkable customer service in response to a small issue. (Too long to explain here but nothing that would have deducted a star.) I would rate it six stars if I could. Very pleased with the product and the company!

High-quality, effective, good-looking...and more...BUT
Update, July 1 2025: As promised at the end of my original review, after further experience with the product and company, I'm updating my review. I'm generously deducting only one star--both because my reliable use of this product has been cast into doubt, and because the customer service response I received was, in my opinion, very mediocre. I'll explain: The main functional piece of the system is the pair of ceramic filters--this is what actually purifies the water--yet they are out of stock for an extended period of time. I wrote to the company explaining that I tried to order them but could not find them for sale either at Amazon or at their company website, and asking when they might be back in stock. The response I got said, "You can check the product next month, as I can not give you time frame. You can also send us follow-up updates here." So, a product for daily ongoing use whose critical component I can't trust to remain in stock, and no accountability or apology, or even explanation, from the company for having it out of stock for a lengthy amount of time, and not even an offer to notify me when it becomes available again. Just the suggestion that I check again next month, and the offer that I continue to update them (instead of the other way around, which would have been more considerate customer service). Here was my original, more positive review: I'm happy with my purchase for several reasons: 1. The high-quality materials. The stainless steel main unit, as well as the metal faucet (not plastic), etc. It has the feel of durability, like they did not skimp on the build quality. 2. Effectiveness at purifying water. Based on the reported lab results (though I did not do my own tests), this filter system removes bacteria, protozoa, viruses, and even a significant amount of heavy metals. (My filter pitcher of a different manufacturer, which I was using previously, did remove the chlorine taste from my water, but was not designed to remove bacteria or protozoa or viruses.) So I feel far better about the quality of the water I'm drinking now. Also, I'm more confident that I'll have good drinking water even in case of a "boil-water order" or the like. 3. Taste. The water tastes good. Before using it I wasn't sure if I'd have to run it through a charcoal-based filter pitcher after using this unit--but it turns out that this is unnecessary. The water tastes pure after using the Survival Filter unit, even though my water coming out of the sink, the water I fill up this unit with, stinks of chlorine-like smell. 4. Aesthetics. It's attractive. The bright stainless steel looks nice on the countertop. 5. Simplicity and reliability. It doesn't depend on electricity, or water pressure in one's pipes. It doesn't have to be charged. It isn't small and delicate or likely to be easily harmed. 6. Versatility. It can be used at home, as I'm doing--but it can also be taken on the road in an RV or a van for extended travel or camping. 7. Warranty and customer service. I have not had any trouble with the product. But I did email the company to register for the warranty, and they got back to me quickly confirming that I'm covered. They seem to stand behind their product, and seem to be good communicators. Those things are important to me. Other information: Assembling the system took me maybe 10-15 minutes, following the instructions of a video I found online. And I'm no mechanical genius. Overall, I'm quite happy with the product, and I would recommend it to others. (And if my opinion of the product changes over time, I will try to come back here and change my review accordingly.)

Survivor Filters
I live in a city along the OH River where reports have been filed with the state's Dept. of Environmental Protection, stating that the drinking water is several times above the maximum contaminant level after treatment. This has been an ongoing issue, so I have been buying bottled water for years. Until now. Having thoroughly researched filtration systems, and wanting one that would filter viruses as well as everything else, I finally settled on Survivor Filters, a gravitational 2.5 gallon ceramic filter system. And I love it. It came super well boxed, even with protection over the stainless steel inside, which is very high quality. It was as easy to put together as the video showed, plus it holds enough water to meet mine and my husband's needs; it filters quickly enough using just 2 filters, though it will hold 4. It comes with an instruction pamplet that tells you when you should change them. The product is simple to use, without needing to plug it in to any outlet. Also, the water tastes delicious. No having to get used to a funny flavor. Unfortunately, the spigot on mine had a small drip after I shut off the valve. After two days I called the service number where I spoke with someone who was greatly concerned that I had a defective part, especially one for which there had previously never been a reported problem. To make right my misfortune, two days later I received an entirely new filtration system, complete with filters and all. And that was just for a new spigot, which I am happy to report has no drip. Needless to say, I have no regrets buying from Survivor Filters, and would highly recommend them to everyone.

Reliable, durable, and essential for clean water anywhere!
I’m beyond impressed with the Survivor Filter Gravity Steel 2.25 Gallon Water Filtration System. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors hiking, van life camping (often solo with my cat), having access to clean water from any source is non-negotiable—and this filter delivers. The stainless steel design feels durable and high-quality, and the 2.25-gallon capacity is perfect for daily use, group trips and at home if you’re not traveling and want clean, purified water. Highly functional! The filtration process is straightforward and surprisingly fast for a gravity system. I love knowing it removes heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses—especially when filling up from questionable sources. The ceramic filters last up to 6 months! Yes please!
