Nice looking chess set in a good case
My son wanted a chess set for Christmas and he was really pleased with this one.

Great size, not great quality
The board is a great size, nice and open. That's the good point. Unfortunately, it's not good quality. The deck of the board is really thin, it's not inlaid squares just stained, and the dark stain leaches into the grain of the white squares. The internal part for the pieces is just thin plastic sprayed with green velvet spray, and doesn't hold the pieces in.Worst part is the hinges - one broke on second time of opening. They are tacked in with tiny pins which don't have a head, so just pull through. There is a strap in the way, so they cannot be fixed.Overall not good. Spend more, get better - this is not an heirloom piece. It's not even good for casual play because it's too flimsy.

Very cheaply made
The pieces won't stay in their holders - they immediately fall out, making it particularly difficult to close up the board.the chess pieces themselves are tatty & feel like they're carved from balsa.The board is of cheap wood.Not worth the money at all. immediately returned

Dissatisfied and disappointed
I'm not very happy with this, after paying the price I had paid I would expect better quality wood, i bought this for a gift for my partner and I am very disappointed because it's not good quality at all and it looks cheap, I could of bought a cheap looking one and paid a few Bob less, but I thought I would push the price expected it to be premium quality for the price. Not happy with this at all and the packaging it come in was cheap and tacky as well. Sorry but disappointed 🙈

Un peu décevant.
L'esthétique des pièces est plutôt sympa. L'ensemble fait malgré tout un peu cheap, le rapport qualité prix reste très bon. À ce prix là, c est déjà pas mal.
