My daughter is 11 and was easily able to set this up and work it. The mini size , along with the speeds are easily adjustable and compliment her smaller hands-the wheel rotates smoothly and the pedal is easy to use when needing to slow and stop the wheel. The tools are not much more than a dollar store quality - but work just fine for a beginner - if my daughter continues to keep the interest - a better quality set will likely be needed as these ones may not hold up too long.
