Our first pet hair rake convinced my wife that it wasn't just a gadget but really worked well on carpeting. The problem with the competitor product is that it was cheaply made and not built to last. It used plastic parts to assemble the two pipe sections of the handle. The metal was also very thin. Sure enough a few applications later the pole snapped at plastic thread assembly area and required bending over to use working part of rake. The plastic part of pole to rake finally broke and we searched for a better quality pet hair rake.This one is it. It's heavier, the metal sections are not thin but sturdy. The two part of handle are metal threaded assembly. It can take the pressure you need to apply to rake the hair. It's very effective in picking up what our vacuum and roomba miss. Highly recommend. Will update if quality becomes an issue.

Take a lot of effort to push down and pull on the carpet to get any hair or fuzz. Really good workout for the arms but though. Have to repeatedly check to and make sure the connecting metal pieces are tight or it’ll fall apart during use.

Easy and quick to use. The longer 52" handle gives you plenty of length to prevent back ache as well as reach under furniture extremely well. Works fantastically on hard floors, rugs and carpets. Will get out most pet hair. Would recommend doing this before vacuuming areas as you go. Nice wide broom head helps you knock out big areas quick.Highly recommend.

Handle pieces did not connect as stated on instructions. Due to not having a proper handle there was no way to tell if it could remove pet fur from carpet properly.

The handheld version of this type of brush works so well that I had to try this one. The handle length is adjustable by adding or removing segments of the lightweight thin metal. I hesitate to put too much pressure on the handle because it doesn't feel terribly sturdy, so it does take longer to get pet hair out of rugs with this than the smaller version. This one is convenient because it doesn't require bending over or sitting on the floor to dig out pet hair the vacuums left behind. It takes some patience because if you try to go too fast it skips and skims over the rug without scraping up any fur. The closer to its base you hold it, the better it works on fur that's been walked into the rugs. It would also benefit from an additional tool for removing the hair that gets stuck in it. I'd consider it a good value at a maximum of $25.

The hair removal rake comes in several pieces for shipping, but it is easily assembled. I also liked the fact that because it is not one piece, you can make the handle shorter, or even not use it at all, depedning on your need.I tried it in various ways to see how it would be most effective. It worked pretty well on the stairs, where I find using a vacuum cumbersome. However, it is not really great at getting into the small areas around the railings when you are using it with the handle attached. I used it on a small area rug that has a rubber backing. It worked great on there, and removed a disgusting amount of dog hair! I also ran it over some of the dog blankets that I leave down for my dog to lie on. It did work, but it required me to step on the blanket and hold it firmly while I passed the broom over it. This was actually the reason I wanted to try it, because I wash these blankets and I worry about all that dog hair going into the washer and clogging it. I can't vaccuum the blankets, because they would go up into the vaccuum, so this was a better option. Lastly, I used it on a chair and this "cat bed" that is pictured. (It is really part of a large dog toy, but the cat likes to sleep on it.) As you can see, it did a pretty good job. I did take it off the handle and just used the rake itself. It was easier that way.In conclusion, yes, you can use it on floors. but I feel it is most effective on furniture and other objects where you can't effectively use a broom or a vacuum.

This is an excellent pet hair remover rake that is just right for me, and I'm 5'2". The handle has three settings and goes all the way up to 52" long so you can use this to clean your ceilings, fans, anything you can reach, and it works very well.I have a 95-pound Labrador who's yellow and who sheds quite a bit. He has a very thick, beautiful coat, and he leaves his calling cards everywhere in the form of dog hair. I don't mind, since I have rugs throughout on our faux hardwood floors and my robo-vac does a great job, but sometimes you need to clean the edges of your rugs and all the places the robo-vac can't reach. This is perfect.This is a powerful pet hair remover, and it can "clean both hard and soft surfaces, I have got two cleaning heads." The "I" in that quote is from the pet hair remover. It does indeed clean both hard and soft surfaces, like my area rugs and my faux hardwood floors where there aren't rugs. Those are the ones that have bothered me most until I got this pet hair remover, the areas between the rugs and the baseboards. They are no longer a problem.I like the lightweight feel of this pet hair remover, especially the handle, which is made of 304 stainless steel. It's 25% thicker than other pet hair removers, and it gives me a light but firm grip so my efforts aren't wasted.This has two brush heads, a metal head that can reach embedded hair and lint in one fell swoop and a dual layer rubber head for smooth floors or glass. I was able to use both of these to reach and clean up pet hair and plain old dust.I highly recommend this excellent pet hair remover to anyone, whether you have pets or not, because we all have dust that accumulates in places that aren't easy to get to. This pet hair remover can reach them and get the dust for you, and it's sturdy but lightweight. This did a great job on all the places in our home I couldn't reach before, and it only takes one pass of the pet hair remover to do that.
