Nice quick pick me up, but pick the espresso chocolate!
Bought these as a huge fan of simply protein and got both the Espresso Chocolate and a Chai Almond. Espresso Chocolate is delicious and not overly sweet. The Chai Almond has an aftertaste that I didn’t enjoy. The texture is a little dry, but typical for protein snacks. The squares are fairly small and would not make a great snack if you were hungry, but serve as a good pick me up if you want protein and caffeine quickly. Next time, I will just order the espresso chocolate. I love that the ingredients are easily understandable and they keep sugar low. They are a bit pricey for the size of the bars, but I would buy again as I like the flavor of the espresso chocolate and I value having a bar with protein, caffeine, and all natural ingredients!

easy gluten-free source of caffeine, protein, and fiber
Being gluten-free and dairy-free means it can be difficult to find protein bars in regular stores, so I'm always pleasantly surprised to see more and more options pop up online. Each package contains two bites, making up one average-sized protein bar. I don't think I'd buy this specific flavor again since I'm realizing that chai is not my favorite, but I do like everything else these bites offer so I'd like to try the chocolate espresso ones next!☾ These contain 55mg of caffeine. It's definitely enough caffeine for me since I went and cleaned the whole house after, but I do have a very low tolerance for caffeine. My boyfriend ate one and didn't feel much, but he's a daily espresso drinker so results may vary.☾ These contain 5g of fiber. The fiber comes from the chicory root fiber and is a prebiotic and soluble fiber. Stay far, far away if you are at all sensitive to FODMAPs. Otherwise, this is a great fiber to incorporate into your diet if your digestive system can handle it. Maybe start slow if you aren't used to having a lot of fiber as suddenly increasing your fiber intake can cause gastrointestinal distress. Drink plenty of water to help the fiber along before increasing.☾ Not gonna lie, the taste is not the best. It's slightly bitter, I'm assuming from the chicory root fiber. It tastes very healthy and very GF/DF, which I'm used to so I don't mind. It's also not super sweet, since there is only 2g of sugar. Obviously, I wish it was a tad sweeter but I'm willing to sacrifice that for lowering my sugar intake.☾ These contain 8g of protein. This isn't a super high amount, but it's not super low. For reference, the average gluten/dairy-containing protein bar usually has around 20g. I'd say 8g is on the lower end for a GF/DF variety, but I like that these also have caffeine so I can eat these before the gym and then still have a protein shake after to bump up my protein intake.Overall, I think these are tailored to pretty specific needs, so if they check off all your boxes then I'd say they're worth the purchase! If you're just looking to buy a good-tasting protein bar and you have zero sensitivities or allergies, I don't think you'd be very happy with these.

this is caffeinated
I love Simply Protein bars and was happy to find these bites. They need to make it more prominent that these are caffeinated. 55mg in each bite. This is a no-go for me. Disappointed.

Tasty chocolate-flavored pick-me-up. Responsibly made in Canada.
You'll probably want to have more than one, but don't because you'll likely be bouncing off the walls afterwards.Full of wholesome ingredients, this made-in-Canada energy treat definitely packs a punch. The company has been certified as a B Corp (a business that is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials).I'll be buying more of this company's products. My rating system:5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park. A great value!4 Stars = Excellent product. A solid buy.3 Stars = It provides some value, but perhaps not as advertised.2 Stars = A little dubious, so do your research. Read the critical reviews!1 Star = Avoid this product and look elsewhere.

Tasty caffeine boost
These are great for the times when you dont have time for breakfast. The energy and caffeine boost gets me up and ready for the day quite quickly I enjoy the chocolate flavor of the bars and that they are split into two pieces, so I can just eat one and save the other for later. I appreciate the quality of the ingredients used in these. They are a good source of protein and fiber without being filled with sugar. They are a great snack for on the go and I will be taking some with me when going on kayaking days throughout the summer.

Contains caffeine, dry, expensive, and I don't love the taste
These are marketed as energy bites, but the fact that they're caffeinated should be front and center. It's only on the box in small font and explained much further down the Amazon listing page. Although 55mg of caffeine isn't a lot (it's slightly more than a cup of black tea), it's still significant. I'll often have a protein bar with coffee in the morning, and I don't want a double dose of caffeine. They won't work for most of my use cases.Add to that the fact that these are about $2 a bar. For that price, I expect a much larger, filling bar with a significant amount of protein. Maybe they're going for a different audience, but I'd neither eat these first thing in the morning nor pre-workout as a protein filled snack. 8 grams of protein is pretty low.Apart from that, these just taste middle of the road. They're not particularly bad, but not good either. They're a bit dry like an oat bar, but they have the taste of chai tea spices mixed with a bit of bitterness. These are not my... cup of tea.
