Great for DIY mini split install. Easy to operate. Save a lot of money versus hiring an HVAC technician. On line videos made it simple.

In the past I've used an installer for my new ac systems, but this time I broke down and bought this set since I have three units to install in the near future and hey, it's not rocket science. There are a ton of great videos online showing how to install a new mini split system. Just the first installation saved me $200 to $300 in installation charges after the cost of this pump and gauge set, so it's already paid for itself and saved me money even if it dies tomorrow. In the future I'll pick up a set of adaptors so I can use it on my cars as well. The pump pulled a vacuum quickly and did not get hot even though I ran it for another half hour to give any moisture enough time to be removed. The gauges are easy to set up and use, and seal very well. I left them connected to the ac system overnight to make sure there were no leaks. Neither the ac nor the gauge set leaked any vacuum. The carry bag is very nice and I was really surprised by the thickness of the fabric and quality. The nylon fabric has a rubber/plastic coating on the inside. This will come in handy if the pump ever leaks a little oil (as they all tend to do). Are there better units out there? Definitely, but they'll cost you three to four times (or more) as much as this one. It's perfect for the DIYer.

Worked as designed

This pump is great. I was able to refill vacuum the air out of the 2 mini split systems I have, & 1 of them, I had to send back, meaning I had to vacuum the refrigerant back down to the condenser; I did this all with no experience & no problem! The accessories it comes with, including the bag, is great!..

Worked great to vacuum down mini split lines. Only took a minute or two to pull a deep vacuum. Quieter than I expected too. Wasn’t expecting the nice bag that came with it but that is nice too.

Fantastic pump for the money! Easy to operate good value for money. I bought 3 mini split units for my house in Florida. Used the pump to help my neighbor too!

The pump did not come pre filled or with bottle of oil. Inconvenience and false advertisement. Hopefully the pump works after I add the oil. Updated review: I originally gave this pump 3 stars because it arrived without oil, despite the listing stating it came pre-filled. I purchased vacuum pump oil and filled it myself. Unfortunately, after using it, I had to lower my rating to 1 star. The pump runs for only about 30 seconds before the thermal overload protector shuts it off. It cools for a couple of minutes, restarts automatically, and then repeats the cycle, even with no hoses connected. I wouldn’t trust equipment that behaves this way on a moisture sensitive HVAC system. Pulling a proper vacuum is one of the most critical steps in installing a mini-split, and a pump that repeatedly shuts down can’t be relied on for that job. I returned it and purchased a different pump.

Works as advertised, used 8 times no issues, fast pull down -- contains most attachments you will need. Unsolicited review.

Well made ,sold through Amazon in uk but absolutely will not work in uk ,110 v not 240v here in uk,so unless you have a spare 110 v transformer knocking about do not buy in uk .
