Sharecropper's Son to Navy Commander

The collection of life stories recounted by the author are humorous at times, endearing at other times, and educational at still others. CDR Odle clearly grew up in a farming family that didn't have a lot. Reading about his life experiences you learn that his roots as a farmer/country boy have made him no stranger to perseverance and hard work. His full character is on display as he enters the Navy and rises from Fireman Apprentice all the way up to a Navy Commander. He is an inspiration for all and especially for those who begin life with very little.

As a read this book, I found myself remembering several episodes of My own Naval experiences.This is the real deal. The phrase 'Been there, done that' certainly applies to Cdr Odle. I highly recommendthis book to anyone who has ever served in the Navy. And most aptly applies to any officer or enlisted that knows what the EEOW does for a living.
