Suffering has meaning
The psalmist says we live 80 years if we are strong, "most of these are emptiness and pain." These stories certainly support this statement. Yet, God has left room for us to unite our suffering to Christ's suffering for the redemption of others. How beautiful, how comforting, how meaningful. The afterward is well written and worth reading more than once.

Excellent book to help any person wondering if God is really there.
I found this book, with these 10 stories of tragedy of all kinds, very uplifting, reassuring and hopefilled. It helped me to realize that there will be hard times in all of our lives, that is part of life, but how we handle those tough times, how we get through them, is what makes the difference. We can either choose to walk closer to God or walk away from Him. All these people chose to put their faith in God and found themselves so much better on the other side.

Amazing Grace
As I suffer from a Chronic illness, I was looking for a way to make sense of it and to live with it. I found this book to be inspirational and give me some sense of purpose in my everyday pain. I will never be healed physically but it helped heal me mentally and spiritually. I would recommmend this to those who have a chronic illness and want to give some purpose to it.

Great book to understand suffering and pain
I read this book and later on I gave a friend this book as a gift. It has stories of people who have suffered. It helped a lot while I was feeling sad for a while. It helped me to understand the different aspects of suffering and pain. My friend's son committed suicide and I thought of this book so I ordered it so she could read it and hopefully after reading this book, her hope would be restored. Great book.

Amazing book!
I ordered this book to have some spiritual reading for Lent thinking I could read a story a week. Well, I finished reading it in four days. I cried and I was humbled by the people's sufferings in this book. Very well written and I am going to pass it around. If there is something missing in your life, read this and you will feel so grateful for what you have or if you are suffering a lot, you can identify with these people. My hour of Adoration has so much more meaning now.

FOR ANYONE WHO IS HURTING
FOR THOSE WHO HURT. I gave this book to a friend who is incarcerated. She knows she did wrong and is serving her time. But she still needs to be comforted and reminded that while she is there-she has not been forgotten by me-nor by God. Suffering is a part of life and some get through it better than others. But there are periods where we feel like we are alone in the battle. Hopefully for the reader-this book will change that feeling-or improve it to a degree where they can persevere through it..
