In my case it did take a tad bit of breaking them in but pretty much from the get go these boots have been great. I wear them on and off duty.

Awesome great boot

So i bought these for work. Right out of the box they were extremely comfortable and fit exactly as they should. They feel great, as i imagine a boot should fit. It feels balanced, weighted, but not too heavy. Construction of the boot feels like how a Danner boot should be. My only concern is the side zipper. It is a smaller, thinner zipper. With my job, getting out of them quickly is important. I have a feeling ill break the zipper as im trying to get out of them one day when i dont pay attention and zip it down all the way.

Hello,I've worked in maintenance for the last 11 years. With all the uniform changes I'm sure everyone is curious about the color being proper. So i tried to add a a few photos in different lights, you cant always trust the website photos to be true to color. The color is good for OCP wear. I bought them with amazon wardrobe feature just to be safe. The boots fit true to size, I wear a 10.5 in my normal shoes and I bought a 10.5 in the boots. They fit perfect. They are extremely light(honestly the lightest work boots I've ever owned) and very comfortable. The zipper is easy up and easy down (it goes low enough to slide the boot off with out a need to untie). The rear strap to help you pull the boot on seems very durable and well built (its stitched into the inseams as well not just top layer sewn on). I've been walking around in them for roughly about two hours. They are still extremely light and comfortable right out of the box. I am very happy with my purchase. I would recommended these boots to any of my counterparts. I hope this helps.

This is the second pair of these boots that I've purchased, and I've been wearing them for a little over three years now.They are amazingly comfortable, I've never personally worn a boot that's matched them in this regard, especially for someone with feet as wide as mine. The inner material is multi-layered and soft, and the leather (once broken in) is very pliable.Unfortunately, that soft inner layer is the boot's downfall. The inner lining, on both pairs I've owned, has worn out in a matter of months at the back of the heel. The first pair fared a little better, lasting a little less than a year, but these wore out in about 6 months which is (personally) unacceptable for footwear this expensive. The first pair I bought did not have the zipper, so when they wore out I attributed it to my foot not having enough room to exit the boot without causing excessive friction. So, I bought the side-zip version hoping it would provide enough clearance. That was evidently not the case.I can't compliment the boot highly enough for its comfort and fit, particularly for people with wide feet. However, because of the durability I can't really recommend it to most people, especially those in the military who will wear on these harder than a civilian might.
