TickTalk5 Kids Smart Watch with GPS Tracker, Calls, Texts & SOS Ages 3-12

We got the TickTalk5 smartwatch for our child who has Down syndrome, and it has been one of the best purchases we’ve made. Koda absolutely loves it. What stands out most is how easy it is for them to use. The big, clear buttons and simple interface make it much less frustrating than a regular phone or more complicated smartwatch. They can answer calls, send quick messages, and check the time without needing constant help. That independence means a lot. The safety features give us real peace of mind. Location tracking, the SOS button, and the ability to control who they can contact have been huge. We know where they are and can reach them (or he can reach us) when needed. For a kid who sometimes wanders or needs a little extra support, that reliability is invaluable. He also just genuinely enjoys wearing it. The watch feels like “His Dick Tracy” device, and he takes pride in using it. It’s durable enough to handle daily life, and the battery lasts through a full day of classes and activities. If you’re looking for a smartwatch that balances fun with real safety and accessibility for a child with special needs, the TickTalk has been a great fit for our family. Highly recommend.

This is overall a great watch. It does have some lag at times and precise location could be a little better. But overall it is good. Love the features it comes with. We had the TickTalk4 and it finally died so we got this upgraded one. They did change the charging port so you have to get a new charger for it, so we opted for the stand. Unfortunately the blue cord did come out of the USB section a little, it still works but I will have to get another charging stand soon. Also my son is older and the only wrist color he semi liked was the light Grey one as the other colors where not for older children. I wish they had it in black, he would have loved that. Also the wrist strap band (that holds the extra wrist strap from flapping about) broke within the 1st 2 months so I just found some universal ones online to fix that issue.

We live in an extremely rural area with terrible cell phone service, on a farm near a town with a population of six people. But somehow these watches are able to track my kids through the fields on their bus route at their school 45 minutes away they have been fantastic. They have been keeping my kids out of trouble. They have been a lifesaver and I absolutely love them. I recommend them 100% every parent everywhere. I only wish that there was a way to have an accessory that would lock it onto the child’s wrist. My kids are young and like to take things off so currently with my oldest every day, I have to use mini zip ties to zip tie the watch band together so he can’t take it off at school otherwise I absolutely love them

My kid loved this watch, he liked being able to call my wife and I anytime he wanted, he’s 10 and we won’t allow him to have a smart phone but wanted to be able to communicate with him if we were separated. For example on our vacation at a campground at the beach, we were riding bikes and he took a wrong turn when he was riding behind my wife and I and we didn’t realize it immediately, we were able to call him and find him quickly. It was great until apparently it got water in it even though it’s supposed to be water resistant to splash’s and rain but it’s not. My son was very careful not to wear it when washing his hands or in a pool, but one day we were riding ATVs and it started raining, that night the watch started saying “no sim” I took the sim cover off cleaned everything and never could get it to read the sim again. I turned the watch off and it would never turn back on. I contacted support and they had me send the watch back. They say it’s water damaged and it will be $100 to replace unless I write an honest review of the watch, so here is my honest review. The watch is great until it sees the slightest bit of water, and what kid is responsible enough to always remember to take off their watch to wash hands or hasn’t been caught out in the rain doing something outside? None that I know of so next time the watch is destroyed by water I will be canceling my TickTalk subscription and getting something more durable like maybe a pinwheel watch that’s ip67 waterproof.

As a Father, the TickTalk 5 is exactly what I needed to openly communicate with my kiddo. The ease of use It brings me the peace of mind that I know where they are at all times with the location tracker. I was able to program necessary numbers into the watch so if they can't reach me, they have other people to call in case of trouble. With today's society, we all should know where are kids are and this is, in my opinion, the best option for parents and children. While the battery life could be improved upon, it is the best bang for it's buck.

One of the things I really like about the TickTalk 5 is the amount of control it gives parents over contacts and communication. I can control who my child can communicate with, which is one of the main reasons I chose a kids' smartwatch rather than giving him a regular phone. That part of the watch has worked very well for us and gives me a lot of peace of mind... and this melds perfectly with the location information that the watch gives. My biggest disappointment is the water resistance. For a watch designed specifically for younger kids, I think it needs to be able to tolerate considerably more exposure to water. Kids are going to forget they're wearing it when they're around water, and unfortunately ours did not survive getting wet. Overall, I really like the communication features and parental controls, but I would strongly recommend improving the water resistance in future versions. For a children's watch, that's an important weakness in an otherwise very useful product.

We got this watch as a Christmas present for my 6 year old so she can get in touch with us when playing out with friends in the neighborhood, and for emergencies. The good: - I chose this watch over other similar kids smart watches because it had a decent battery life—we can get about a day and a half of passive use off a single charge. - a camera for video calls (which can only be done by approved users through the TickTalk app), and can also be used to take “selfies” but otherwise does NOT have the ability to record/send videos (this is okay IMO as I prefer a watch with more limited functionality) - I was also attracted to the fact that it had a remote listening feature (this is marketed as a safety feature, but be sure to check your state laws regarding listening/recording conversations without others knowing) - No extra monthly fees and cheap phone plan options! This was a huge selling point—plans start at $10/month (1,000 minutes and 1GB of data) and go up from there. You own the watch outright instead of having to pay bogus monthly fees to use it, which is huge for me. The bad: - limited keyboard functionality for text messages and limited emoji options. There is no keyboard option for text messages (which can also ONLY be done in the TickTalk app instead of going to my phone’s messaging app), but the speech to text works okay (to be fair, my daughter isn’t the best at enunciating, so we’ve gotten a few nonsensical texts). You have the option of putting in custom text messages, which is nice but my daughter has expressed frustration with not being able to send certain things. For example, the emojis are limited mostly to “faces” but she wants to be able to send rainbows and unicorns to me. This isn’t a dealbreaker; just a little disappointing for my daughter. - GPS isn’t super accurate. The company is aware of this and is working on it. You have the option of correcting the GPS location, which is used to better inform TikTalk’s software (I.e. we’re at home but it’s showing my daughter is across the street and down the block), but the app isn’t super intuitive and I often forget how to correct the location. - Lock Screen passcode software issues. There is a KNOWN issue with the “Lock Screen” passcode where the bottom numbers on the lock screen (8/9/0) do not work without SIGNIFICANT pressure or repeated pressing. I knew that this was probably a software issue because the bottom of the screen worked perfectly fine otherwise, and was only having issues when I tried to unlock the watch. I called TickTalk support and they said that they were working on a software update to fix the issue and advised me to try updating the watch in a few weeks but to use a passcode without 8/9/0 in the meantime. I was annoyed by the inconvenience, but this is an otherwise livable software issue. - you have the option of sending “Greeting cards” in the app, which are kind of annoying (both on the watch and in the app). When my daughter gets a greeting card (or a notification that one of us “liked” her greeting card) it takes up the whole screen and there isn’t an option to bypass it. It doesn’t show up in the notifications menu, it just takes up the screen so she has to wait for that to go away before she can do anything in the watch. Honestly I wish I could disable the feature. - inability to disable/remove all in-watch apps/features. You can take off some apps (like the dial pad and calculator), but I wish I could disable more to REALLY dumb down the phone. It’s annoying to have my daughter fiddle with random things on the watch when I want her to be more present (this would include being able to disable the camera feature, or to only be able to use it for video calls). - iHeartRadio icon still shows after disabled. Instead, your kid gets a message about how the feature is been disabled. It’s clear that this is some kind of “ad” or “collaboration” with iHeartRadio, which is annoying because I don’t want my kid nagging me about a feature they can’t access—I’d rather it just not be visible to them. I think that a lot of the cons could be easily remedied with software updates, so I hope TickTalk takes them to heart for the future.

Love this watch for my son!!! Love the drop in feature so I can hear what’s going on around my son. The issue I have is that the GPS location is not precise at times especially in rural areas. But I do also love the parental controls and how easy it is for my 6 year old to operate. Just wish they had different wrist band options. The call quality is great, if it’s muffled and you can’t hear, just make sure the microphone on the watch is not blocked with debris as it happens once for us!

We bought this for our child as he was leaving to summer school. From the very first day, the battery only lasted 6 hours. Later it lasted less and less , charging very little during the whole night and after 20 days it shut off completely and never went back on. As our child was away from day one using the watch , we weren’t able to return the item … 200 euros straight in the bin. Zero recommendable
