The Pre-Amp
This preamp works will. At first when I connected it to my shotgun mic. It didn't work. Then, I will realize, that my shotgun mic needed a battery. In order for the shotgun mic to work. Next, I turn on my recorder and the shotgun sound clearer and there loud hissing in the background. Ordered another pair. Can't wait for it to arrive. One more thing, in order for it work, you need a power source.

Boosted the dynamic microphones
I got a good mix of Dynamic and Condenser microphones around my streaming setup. When I saw this Preamp Booster, I had to try this it just see if it really worked. Not only did it work but it worked better than I had expected. I just plugged it into my XLR cable and attached it to my 48 volt Condenser microphone. Then...nothing happened. That is because I didn't read the packaging or directions. It's a booster for a non-powered microphone that uses 48 volt from a mixer to do its job. Built into this booster is a 48 volt cutoff to protect the Dynamic microphone from any power damage. A very clever design. However, that same cutoff blocked the power to my Condenser microphone that needs power to work at all. When hooked up to an unpowered Dynamic microphone, it cranked up the clarity and gain to whichever Dynamic mic I chose. It most definitely works as described and does better than I could have hoped for. I might need a couple more of these. I recommend but be sure to read the directions first. 5 stars.

Small but mighty
Great little preamp for use in situations where you need to drive more gain straight from the capsule. Doesn't introduce any noticeable noise, and it's small enough that it easily fits in-line in any setup.

Work only with 48v phantom power.
I am sure it is a good product but I Can't use it without a 48v phantom power. So, I'll wait a bit before buying the adapted interface. More gear, more cables, mote weight, more space use, more expenses. it is a bit fustrating. Learning is expensive, especially the hard way. I'll update my review when I I'll be able to actually use it.

Great microphone booster!
This microphone booster is incredible! Not only did it amplify the signal to my mic, but it also did not include noise pollution in the signal, as some boosters do! This was very easy to use, and I'm very pleased with this product! I really feel it has leveled up the quality of my content.

Easy to use
I acquired this for a wireless microphone system that had a relatively weak signal through the XLR jacks. They are straightforward to use, and the phantom power from the mixer simplifies the setup process.

very clean and clear - as good as my comercial units!
This provided about 25db of gain. I have other well-known brand name inline amps / lifers for microphones, and they are typically around 15-20db of gain and this had more gain than they did. This booster / lifer is as clean as any of them. There was no sound coloration that i could detect or any impact on the audio. it is dead quiet.my behringer mixer doesn't have enough gain in the mic preamp for dynamic mics before the hiss starts becoming noticeable, it is that last 10db if gain on the mixer where it is a problem. with this booster, I can lower the gain significantly and have very clean audio even from my quietest dynamic mics. This is as good as any of the commercial lifters I have, and nowhere near their price. and I do not say this lightly, it is really that good!As with most of these lifters / boosters, you need 48v phantom power to use it, and, you can not use them with mics that also need phantom power like condenser mics.Although you could use this inline someplace, I just plugged it directly into the back of the mic, it works well someplace inline as well. I like to have my lifters as close to the mic as I can get them. so, I do like that I can just plug it right into the mic.if your setup needs some dead quiet extra boost, then this is a device to consider, I like this one a lot!
