So this was marketed as a case and it does go around the switch like a case, but this feels more like just a pretty skin. It does not seem like it would do anything to protect the Nintendo switch. If it were dropped, I think I will be seeking out something more sturdy for protective purposes, but for something cute for an older child, not prone to dropping things this could be a good option
