I was pleasantly surprised by the Gasbye 500 de-humidifier . It arrived well packaged and the box is easier to take out . I didn`t have any trouble with the removal of the water tank at all ; I guess Amazon kept it upright on delivery .The equipment finish itself is in a glossy black plastic , very elegant (I was weary of being a matte black metal thing worth of a basement of garage) but this thing can be placed perfectly on the family room or living room(photos) and look great on it .The instructions are labeled on top and have tabs to lift out , which I did , The regular instruction book is very well done and well thought out , easy to understand .It`s been working for only 3 hours after the 24 hours settlement as instructed and it has already lowered the humidity from 65 to 50 which is the setting I put on it . It is on Normal setting so I guess it will stop any moment now .The equipment consume only 500 watts so it is perfect for a connection on a regular 15amp outlet .Noise is very minimum , another worry that it is now gone . While the compressor is working the noise is very , very minimum almost unnoticeable at 5 feet from it , so I am elated .I sent the warranty email to [email protected] last night and Amy already replied ... fantastic .I honestly think that I made a good buy on an excellent quality product with a reputable company .I hope it will last for many years to come .Frankly , the equipment exudes quality ... Although it only has been working for a few fours , I think it would have no problems for years , so , so far , I am very pleased with it .Thanks, Amy for a fast reply .

Have had this working for 2 weeks. We live in our Touring Travel Trailer full time & use it to help keep our humidity levels comfortable. The unit arrived well packaged, the manual is in English and is very easy to understand . The unit has 4 settings and performs very well in each setting so far. We got the mgr. extensions for an added 1 year normal warranty & the 5 year extended warranty for refrigerant leakage & compressor icing @ no additional cost. Amy, is our customer representative & is very courteous and helpful. She reviewed & returned our confirmations on the mfgr. warranty offers within 3 hours of our on line application. The unit has been performing very well. The sensor is within 1-2 points of 2 separate humidity monitors. We empty the bucket ( .9 gal) about 1 x a day & it easily maintains our levels between 40-50%. We like the fact these are tested at 3 different humidity/temperature levels & their performance meets or exceeds the lastest testing and certification requirements. We also appreciate they utilize copper lines and the claimed ratings & removal quantities are based on realistic temperature/ humidity conditions while meeting or exceeding the latest industry standard requirements. We found this very helpful in obtaining accurate comparisons of the competitions stated performance ratings. Very pleased so far. Will update after we have more data and conditions but are extremely satisfied at this point in time. Highly recommend buyers strongly consider giving these folks and their units a chance. In our research we were very impressed & still are with the performance. We have not experienced any of the few 1& 2 negative review issues mentioned. It is compact, quiet, attractive, easy to use, dump, and clean. Feel it is a very good unit that quickly pulls moisture & maintains the humidity levels.UPDATE: 02/17/2025-We love this unit. The manufacturer claims & comments are very accurate and are not just hype,,, the unit does all they claim it will do. Performance & operates flawlessly for us through our fall and early winter conditions. Easily maintains humidity @ 35-45%. All our initial impressions have been confirmed & manufacturer is knowledgeable &responds quickly to questions.

I simply love this dehumidifier. O bought it for my detached RV size double garage. It is probably a little small for the space, but it is working Renata l remarkably well. I have it draining via a steel garden hose, and before that I was having to empty it twice a day. Now it has the humidity down to a controllable level, and has been running constantly for about a month so far. It is quiet and efficient. I am planning on buying a second one as well.There really isn't anything to dislike about it. It came with everything I needed except the hose. I do wish the power cord was a bit longer, since it says not to use with an extention cord. It is really a well built unit that performs excellently.I would highly recommend this unit especially for the affordable price it is offered at.

We needed a new dehumidifier for the basement when the old Frigidaire stopped working after many years (the usual system failure severe icing problem that plagues dehumidifiers). After days of searching reviews on the internet and Amazon I decided to try the Gasbye DryPrime-50-B. The reviews I read for all other brands/models reported poor performance and early failure, seems to be the norm these days for all the mass-produced units made in china.The Gasbye stood out for reliability and warranty (2yr/5yr when registered with Gasbye). The User Manual is very well illustrated and clearly written, not the usual poorly translated english.A feature I particularly like is the COMFORT setting, it automatically adjusts the humidity set point based on air temperature, for example, when basement is cooler in the winter it will adjust accordingly. It also has auto-defrost to control icing. It's keeping the basement humidity at a comfortable 50% level which is ideal, and it automatically cycles on & off so not running constantly, seems to be sized right for the 1800 sq ft basement. And it's quiet.I registered with Gasbye customer support for the additional warranty and received a pleasant confirmation email within 24 hours. They are confident in their product and put a lot of emphasis on customer satisfaction. It's unusual these days, such outstanding effort for customer satisfaction and support is not the norm.So far it's a perfect 5 stars!
