I have not opened mine yet since I'm still waiting for them to send me a replacement. I would contact their support by email if you want to be 100% sure - they responded to me within a day. Hope this helps. **Q: Does the bracket need a stud to mount to or is mounting on drywall acceptable?** A: Mounting the brackets into studs is always preferable, but not always possible. In my bathroom, the bracket on one end of the shower rod is mounted into a stud behind the drywall; the other end isn't. But I used very good mounting anchors-plastic anchors with a wide "flair," not the less effective ones provided with the rod-to secure that end. So far (after three months), it remains solidly mounted. **Q: Has anyone tried to install this rod on tile?** A: Yes I did just that. Just obtain the correct size drill bit for tile or glass and they provide the screw anchors. I have had no problem with them loosening up. **Q: How far apart are the mounting holes? Want to see if it will match the existing ones before purchase as they are through tile.** A: The mounting holes are around 7cm apart. I searched both our local big hardware stores for what they had in shower curtain rods, in-store and online, and special ordered a curved rod from one of them, I won't mention the name here. Upon receipt and inspection it appeared to be what I wanted. However upon putting the two curved pieces together I noticed the bent ends were not inline with each other. The curved tubing was twisted just enough to where it was impossible to mount. I promptly returned it to the store for a refund. I decided to search for a rod on Amazon and ran across this rod and read some of the reviews and decided to order and see if it fulfilled our needs, and it did wonderfully.This is a sturdy stout shower curtain rod, well made and a great value. Being a career tooling machinist I am not satisfied with substandard equipment. I evaluate the quality and design of products I purchase and this product is designed very well. The tubing is solid, not flimsy, the wall mount brackets are very stout and precisely forged. This rod can be mounted by one person but it is easier to have and assistant help support the rod when securing the second final wall mount bracket. Very few tools are required to make this installation and all required fasteners are included. Once the rod and brackets are secured the the wall tightening the top and bottom set screw on each bracket, with the included allen wrench, completes the installation and snugs the rod from any vertical wobble.I highly recommend this shower curtain rod and would buy another without hesitation if I had the need. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch, easy to install *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2013* This was a cinch to install. I have no concerns about this falling down no matter what happens.- Templates that come with it show you exactly where to drill and screw - so no worries about being out of line or making a mistake. This one is excellent. It does have a chrome finish, but the actual rod is really aluminium. It gives a lot of space in the shower and I really like that. It was fairly easy to install, easier if you had a helper. The mounting ends are very nice, heavy metal with a chrome finish - no plastic! When installed, its extremely sturdy, and a huge step up from those spring compression shower rods. The unit also has some eye appeal as well - it reminds me of several hotels that I have stayed in over the years. If you dont have a glass shower door, realize that this is a huge step above those as well - without the huge expense!
