This is the most impressive of the Cocktail Time watches built for the American market. The Cal. 4R35 movement is better finished than the generic versions (NH35A) built into other brands and mine runs +4 seconds per day. Please note that the product description erroneously lists this as a quartz watch when, in fact, it’s a beautiful automatic with a “demonstrator” (see-through) case back. And then there’s the dial...OMG. 7 layers of gorgeous Japanese laquer over brilliant sun ray guilloche. This watch is The Bomb. Truly affordable luxury.

I've been after my perfect dress watch for a couple of years. After much research and deliberation, I decided this fit all of my criteria. The size works perfect for my 6-1/4" wrist. The supplied leather strap is adequate but I dressed it down with a nice canvas strap and it looks great, much more casual. I've been wearing it on and off for the past three weeks and let the power reserve run out once in that time. Since I've been wearing it, it gains about 5 seconds per day. Pretty darn good, especially for a Seiko. The dial looks absolutely beautiful in any lighting. The indices are crisp and clean as well as the frame around the date window. I've seen some complaints online about the movement used in these, but I just don't understand that attitude. Would it be nice if this watch had a higher beat rate or a longer service interval? Yes, but not for the extra $100 to $200 Seiko would certainly charge for those features. If you are on the hunt for a watch that can pull double duty as a formal dress watch and a more casual watch to wear around town or at the office, I'd definitely recommend any of these 38mm cocktail time watches. There are plenty of other colors to choose from if the red doesn't suit your tastes. These are well built and definitely worth the money if you can get it on sale.

Fue una compra impulsiva, vi las fotos y me gusto el reloj, ademas lo consegui en una buena oferta, pero nunca considere si de verdad se ajustaba a mi estilo de vida y mi dia a dia y mis vestuarios, lo cierto es que es un reloj de vestir y que esta pensado para usarse con correa de cuero y para ocasiones formales o semi formales, en cuyo caso no tendria sentido para mi coleccion personal ya que no lo usaria casi nunca, pero he visto varios longines elegantes que vienen por defecto con correa de caucho y quise experimentar con este, yo se que a ojos de muchos les parecera raro e incompatible pero a mi me gusto y eso es lo que importa, pudiera haberlo regresado o regalarlo simplemente guardarlo en su estuche sin usarlo casi nunca pero con el gusto de tener un reloj hermoso de una gran marca aunque no se ajustara a mi, pero con esta correa de caucho universal que le puse se adapta mejor a mi y lo estoy usando con mucho gusto. El reloj en si tiene una marca de prestigio respaldandola, el dial es precioso, yo lo encontre a buen precio pero siento que 400 dolares no esta mal por el, no me gusta que el cristal sea hardlex pero tampoco siento que deba romper el trato con tal de tener esta hermosa caratula con un calibre automatico confiable y de una gran marca. Tengo medio mes usándolo y solo he tenido un incidente donde el segundero se detuvo del todo y por mas que le di cuerda este no se movia, pero evite desencantarme de el y lo que hice fue mover las manecillas ( aun sin carga, cosa que estoy consiente que no se debe hacer) hasta llegar a las 6 pm y volvi a darle cuerda y ya se movio el segundero y tienen una semana desde ese dia y no ha dando ningun problema y no tampoco he tenido problemas de desfasarse en el tiempo mas de lo normal ... Entre 5 y 15 segundos al dia mas o menos.... Mi recomendacion es que si tiene dias sin carga pues se tomen la molestia de darle cuerda a razon de 30 vueltas completas para evitar este tipo de problemas En general estoy muy satisfecho y lo recomiendo ampliamente... Estaria mas feliz si el cristal fuera de zafiro y se que le doy un estilo poco ortodoxo pero en cuanto a calidad no tienen de que preocuparse Por cierto y como referencia, mi muñeca es de 16 cm (6.25 pulgadas) y este reloj tiene un diametro de caja 38.5 cm por lo que queda bien, pero siento que otro modelo de 40.5 cm de diametro de caja ya se veria un poco mal en mi muñeca

The watch face is absolutely beautiful, it is slim and lightweight and the soft leather strap makes it feel as if you didn't have a watch on your wrist. I was able to measure it's accuracy and got -4 seconds per week which is good enough for me and the price. Definitely worth the money.
