Rather difficult to build.
He's pretty cool once assembled, functions well and is fun to play with but it really is quite difficult to remove all the pieces from the sprue and assemble them without damaging any parts and the tiny screws are quite hard to screw in (maybe my tiny screwdrivers just made it hard?) So I would say children of around 12 might be able to make it alone

My son enjoyed building it. It kept him engaged for hours until he finished it.

Very disappointed. I got it as a Christmas present for my robot-obsessed son, but after hours of work putting it together, all it did was shake a bit and make noises while the legs popped off. I thought maybe my son had messed something up, so I rebuilt the legs (being super careful about the pieces, because the tabs are small and VERY delicate), but nope, no difference. So finally I tore the whole thing apart, thinking maybe something was wrong with the gear assembly--and again, after carefully reassembling the stupid thing, still just shaking in place. Now the piece of junk is in the trash and I'm here writing this review just to complain about the hours of my life wasted for nothing.

It turns on, it makes noises, it moves, it spins but it doesn't move from the spot you put it in or seem to sense sound. All of the legs keep unclipping and two of the legs aren't at the same level so they don't touch the floor. We can hear parts inside moving around and rotating but sometimes the robot itself doesn't move at all. The way some of this is put together is just not secure so I'm not sure if something came undone in the long process of putting it together or if we missed a step. I might take it apart and start at step one to see if there is anything I can do to fix it. It also took SO LONG to put it together. We used the YouTube video they provide a link to to put it together instead of the instructions. The video is about 38 minutes, but it took us so much longer since we had to stop to follow the instructions and put things together. Anyone who buys this is definitely going to need to set a couple of hours aside. Last thing I want to say is an adult should be there during assembly for kids under 10. There are some things that young kids will need help with and they have to be careful to put the pieces in the right way or they could end up with a dud. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 since it does turn on, light up, and move, but this is such a big disappointment for a kid who loves robots.

Cute, seemed to be well made but incredibly small! As always returning with Amazon was very easy. I need to really shop with a measuring tape in my lap.

A little complicated, many pieces.
