Are those binoculars any good for field veiwing when out walking

Perfect for it,good magnification,great compact size. I use them at home to watch birds at the back of my house and they are ideal. Also use on hols abroad for watching yachts etc.

What is the lowest magnification, my purpose for buying is to view garden birds closer from only a distance of 2-8 metres from the house ?

Not too techno, I bought mine to enhance the glorious football currently being played by West Ham. Don't think you'll get much clarity at under 4yds, say.
