Amazing product, but broke after a day :-(
I’m updating my original review below because of fantastic customer service from the manufacturer. I reached out Blue Marble by email on a *Sunday* and received a prompt reply saying they were mailing me a replacement and prepaid postage for me to send them the broken part so they could investigate the issue. It was ready for pickup by the USPS by Sunday evening! I have not received it yet, but I’m hoping the new piece will last longer than the last one.Original review:First off, this is an amazing toy with so many possibilities and was hours of fun for my son — for one day. Unfortunately, a piece broke off of the main battery unit after one day, so we were not able to use it after that. It’s such a shame, because this one defect prevents us from using the whole set. I wish the manufacturer offered a replacement part; I’d give it 10 stars if I could. It would be well worth the price if it hadn’t broken so soon, but it’s too pricey to order another one. My son is heartbroken; this was his favorite toy he’s probably ever received. I wish I could get a free replacement, but I can’t find a way to contact the manufacturer.

Perfect for eight year olds
All parts arrived in working order, properly packaged and looking nice.Directions are clear and helpful.Devices to attach are clearly marked and appear durable. Nothing broke apart during first play.Wires connect everywhere easily although my eight year old had to push a little to complete connections. The power block holds 3 batteries but do lower the ribbon down before inserting the two batteries so you can pull on the ribbon to easily remove the batteries later. The dial switch increases luminosity of the lights. I couldn’t see it so thought the switch was broken but my eight year old could. You can also try after dark to be sure. The set has sufficient devices and wires that it awes and inspires also ignoring the booklet and winging it which can result in “nothing happens” forcing review and retry so perfect for impatient but curious minds.

The grandchildren have a lot of fun building things
This is a fun kit that's easy to assemble. Even younger children (5 y/o) has fun with it.This doesn't hold the attention of children under 3rd grade as some kits do. They seem to want more "action things", like the helicopter. However this is a good tool to teach electronics basics and for children to assemble something and see it work.I would have given it 5 stars, but I think the instruction book could have been done better and with a few additional components, it could be pretty amazing.

My son LOVES this set!
We’ve tried some other circuit toys and this is hands down the most solid and comes with the best explanation and diagrams. My 8 years old son sat for hours on Christmas morning playing with this and calling us over to see all of the circuits he created.
