We needed to do a smoke test after replacing a part on my minivan. We used the recommended solution in it and it heated up quickly and produced the smoke easily to do the test.

Entry level smoke detector that punches above its level. At this tier, I expected to have to hook a compressor up to it, but this one has the air pump inside.Hooked it up , and helped my chase down a vacuum leak on my car that had been causing problems for a long time. Well worth it!

It's an added bonus that my husband is a mechanic and needed this tool anyways. It's a simple and easy machine to use if you know what you're doing. My husband was very easily able to find the leak in order to repair it. I ordered this through Vine, but I paid for the Tec1Tools liquid smoke just so I could start with something right away (I make no claims about how well the liquid smoke will or won't work). This unit will run on supposedly any liquid smoke product formulated for this application, or baby oil. I tried what I showed and got the results you see in the photo: a nice, steady stream of nasty smelling smoke. Seriously, they say to use in a well ventilated area AND THEY MEAN IT. It's a little noisy, and the chamber seems to hold only a small amount of fluid, but it puts out a pretty good amount of smoke, all considered. I think for the price this is a bargain. It even comes with a bunch of adapters and instructions for how you can use this to test different systems in different ways, whether to test evap systems or look for vacuum leaks or to slowly dose smoke in with the doctor blood pressure looking bulb attachment thing. I also used the battery from my motorcycle to run this, it doesn't need much.
