Long tulle skirt is light and floaty, figure flattering.
I ordered this GOLDSTITCH Tulle Skirts for Women Long Fairy Skirt Tutu A-Line Mesh Layered High Elastic Waist Skirts because I loved the look, but I was curious—how would it look in person?I’m very familiar with seeing something on a model that looks so pretty, but when I try it on, it’s laughably unflattering. Models are tall and super slim. I’m small, a bit under 5’3”, and I’m hourglass curvy. I wear a size 6 in jeans, have a tiny waist, but I’m pretty busty. I have to be careful what I wear—the wrong cut can make me look enormous, which I’m not.I loved how ethereal and floaty this skirt looked but I was worried that all those layers of ruffle would overwhelm my figure. I didn’t want to look like a Glinda Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade balloon. But I’ve been eyeing skirts like this for a long time, and one of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to be brave and try things outside my comfort zones. I’ve already tried a few dresses that were outside my understanding of the types of clothes I wear, and most of them actually looked okay. So I ordered this.Do “one size fit most” clothes really fit most people? This is “one size” skirt. It has a wide elastic waist, not one of my favorite looks.I was getting nervous, but I tried it on. And you know what… it looks pretty good.I was worried that all those ruffles would be visually over, but this skirt was designed well. The cut of the skirt skims close to the body, it isn’t a big, wide skirt. There are six layers of ruffle, and each layer is just a bit longer than the one above it, which is somewhat elongating. That elastic waist is actually just the band of elastic. It is nicely joined to the skirt and looks like a proper waistband, but it isn’t inside a gathered fabric band, which would make it look larger. The skirt is lined well past the knee. The lining is not quite as long as the skirt, so the last layer of ruffle is unlined. The skirt hit me at mid-calf, a flattering length that wasn’t at the widest part of my calf. I’m short, so this might run too short on a taller person, but I liked the length a lot. This was definitely worth the experiment of trying a style I would not normally wear.I love how floaty this skirt is. It’s made of two different materials, a sort of stretchy knit and the airy ruffle material. Both materials are stretchy. I don’t know if this skirt would fit everyone, but it should fit quite a few people. I found it quite comfortable, but there was a whole lot of stretch to the waistband if I pulled it out as far as it could go.I ordered this skirt in pink. It is an unusual pink, sort of a pinkish grey, with maybe a little brown in there. Back in Victorian/Edwardian days there used to be a color called ashes-of-roses. That might be a good description for this color. It is a muted pink, but still pretty.Actually, given all the ruffles, I think muting the pink a bit was a wise design choice. I love Barbie, but I don't know that I want to dress like her. This skirt is well-cut and more sophisticated than I usually would expect from pink ruffles.Confession time: Both my grandmothers taught me not to buy a piece of clothing unless I could wear it with at least three other things in my closet. I ordered this without thinking what would go with it. Part of that “be brave” thing. Leap without looking… or at least, leap without overthinking. So I’m still playing around with this, trying to find what to pair it with. It looked great with a simple v neck black jersey tunic. On someone less busty, this would probably pair well with a camisole. Not so great on me. But cover the cami with a grey cardigan, and we were getting somewhere.I think for me, the trick is finding ways to dress this skirt down. I love the ruffles, but wearing them with a simple top lets the ruffles be the star of the show. I do have high lace-up Victorian boots and a corset-y blouse that look awesome with this, but it is a very dressed-up look. I want to find more casual ways to work this into my wardrobe.I love vintage clothing, and I love modern clothes that cherry pick the best bits from that vintage style. That’s what I think this skirt does—take beautiful vintage color (ashes-of-roses) and style (long skirt, all those ruffles) but tweak them so they look attractive to our modern eyes. The skirt is soft, and easy to pull on and off. I expected the ruffles to be scratchy, like net, but they are softer than that. It is lightweight, much lighter than I expected, and easy to wear.“One size fits many” skirt really does have the stretch to fit different figure types. Six layers of soft ruffles skim close to the body for a figure-flattering midi-length skirt. (At least, midi-length on me. I’m pretty short.) Feminine styling, stretchy lining, and a lot of fun.

Cute tulle skirt!
I think this skirt is really cute and comfortable to wear. The tulle fabric is airy and lightweight, which is perfect for warmer days or when you want to feel a bit more whimsical. Also, the high elastic waistband is super comfy and gives the skirt a nice fit. For reference, I'm 5'3", 108lbs, size 2, wearing the red version with the small tulle in size S.However, there's one thing I noticed that I want to mention -- the skirt is lined, which is great for added coverage, but it's still a tiny bit sheer, especially in certain lighting. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but it's something to be aware of. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I can't wait to wear this skirt out and about!

Cute and Playful!
This skirt is so cute and playful! I love the structure that keeps the ruffles from being flowy. The bold color is just as advertised. The lining is the perfect length so I don’t need to add a slip. I am a size 14, and it is a little snug around my waist, so it might be just perfect for anyone smaller than that.

Great addition
I had got this for a Wednesday themed party which it was perfect for. I have since used it many times. The length is perfect for many costume ideas. I have washed it many times it has not shrunk or faded. This is a great piece to have in any closet.
