Friendly company, responsive customer care
UPDATE (7/2026): I provided feedback a year after my purchase, and the seller promptly contacted me to remedy my unsatisfactory experience. I was offered a few options and ultimately the seller sent me a new timer unit to replace the faulty one. My sprinklers are sprinkling and my plants are happy! Great, gracious, and responsive customer care—thank you! ORIGINAL review (6/2026): I originally had two single zone RainPoint hose timers to water two garden beds (6/2024). I used them with Orbit 8-port manifolds and 1/4” tubing. I found the timers easy to program and they have worked beautifully and consistently! I don’t know if this is necessary, but I have always kept them covered with a nursery pot to protect them from direct sun and regular watering (they are located IN my garden beds). The larger of my two beds had difficulty with decreased water pressure, so last year (6/2025) I upgraded to this double hose timer to split the bed into two zones. The interface for the double timer is a little different than the single timer, but still simple enough to use. I kept the timer shielded from weather, spray, and direct sun and it worked reliably from June through October until I put it away for the season. Unfortunately, this year after reinstalling I’ve run into many episodes where the timer just hasn’t worked. The batteries are good, the programming is accurate, the spigot is open, the timer counts down….but the actual valves are not opening and closing on cue. I’ve been able to reset it by removing the batteries for several minutes, then reinstalling and reprogramming, and it has worked again for a few days before again inexplicably the mechanical function stops working. So frustrating! I feel very disappointed that it only gave me a few months of use. My single zone timers are still working so I’m debating whether two single timers would be more reliable than this double timer.

Perfect for the garden!
Definitely worth it!! Works perfectly and I was able to have a beautiful garden, and not to worry when I wasn’t home to hand water. This took over my daily watering routine. Highly recommended!! Easy to use and to adjust settings when needed

works perfectly
Great way to water at night and efficiently keep lawn green. Easy to connect and program. No leaking. Like that it has brass fittings. Seems sturdy and well constructed. I have one on each faucet. I would recommend

Nice to find metal connectors
We were looking for a timer with metal connectors, which was hard to find and couldn’t even find in stores. So this was a good find. It was a decent price and connected easily to pipes. So far it has held up really well and not had any errors.

Reliable and convenient way to water lawn areas without an in-ground system.
Easy to program with all the necessary functions for 2 zones. Sometimes causes water hammer when shutting and humming noise when in use but much less than the other brands. Needs to be manually turned off prior to rain event.

5 start customer service! They stand behind their product.
We've got 12 raised beds, and keeping them all watered consistently was a real challenge before I found a system that worked. Hand watering 12 beds every day in the summer is not exactly relaxing, and I was constantly worried about underwatering when life got busy. That's what led me to the Rainpoint 2-zone sprinkler timer connected to a drip irrigation setup. I did a lot of research before committing, and honestly the price point made it feel like a low-risk experiment. I ran drip lines to all 12 beds, set up a schedule, and it just... worked. My tomatoes and peppers especially seemed to love the consistent, deep watering. The timer is very easy to use and the UI is clear and to the point. For everyone else talking about how it's hard to program, they aren't reading the instructions. It has a HUGE dial and is very straightforward. Set the duration, set the occurrence, set the zone, done. Then, about a year in, I noticed one of the zone outlets had developed a leak. I'll be honest, my heart sank a little. I was wrong to worry. RainPoint customer service got back to me almost immediately, no runaround, no interrogation about how I'd installed it or whether I'd voided some obscure warranty clause. They just asked for my info and shipped me a brand new replacement unit. The whole thing was painless. It's genuinely rare to find a company that stands behind their product like that, especially at this price point. A lot of brands in the garden gadget space feel like they're designed to last just long enough to clear the return window. Rainpoint actually made me feel like a valued customer rather than a problem to be managed. I've already been talking it up in my local gardening group, and I'll keep doing so. I'll report back on the long-term durability of the replacement, but if the customer service is any indication of how this company operates, I'm feeling good about it. Here's to another season of happy tomatoes. Note: As another reviewer mentioned, you must uninstall when the temperature drops below freezing. Even if you clear it - there's still likely going to be a bit of water in the device that could freeze and break the unit.

Seriously awesome - Saved my lawn when on vacation
First Impressions & Setup Right out of the box, this thing feels super solid. The plastic isn't thin or cheap, and the threads screwed onto my outdoor faucet perfectly without any leaks or having to wrap it in a ton of plumber's tape. The setup was a total breeze—the menus are actually intuitive, and I had all my different watering zones programmed in under ten minutes. The screen is nice and bright too, so you don't have to squint when the sun is hitting it. How it Performs I’ve been running this for over a month now and it hasn't missed a single beat. Every zone turns on exactly when it’s supposed to, and the water pressure stays perfectly balanced. My favorite part is that when the valves shut off, they snap shut tight. No slow drips or leaks at the spigot, which means no more annoying mud puddles underneath my hose setup. The Best Feature The rain delay button is a lifesaver. We had a massive downpour last week, and I just tapped the button to pause the system for 48 hours. It didn't wipe out any of my saved schedules, and it automatically kicked back on once the storm passed. It saved me a ton of water and kept my utility bill nice and low. The Verdict If you're tired of manually moving sprinklers around or dealing with cheap timers that break after a month, just get this one. It's totally set-it-and-forget-it, keeps the grass looking great, and is worth every penny.

Stopped due to leak
I purchased this about two months ago. I chose it because I have a similar model that has been working great for a couple of years. This one stopped working last night with water visible inside the display. I tried changing the batteries to no avail. UPDATE: The manufacturer’s sales manager contacted me and arranged a replacement unit which arrived promptly. This is impressive and proactive customer service. I have also raised the rating to five stars in light of the excellent customer service and solid performance of the timer.

My green thumb! Relief from daily drudgery and time lost. Works perfect. Super easy to set up.
Unaffected by rain. The fastest growth I ever saw on the cucumbers, and Morning Glories. “Re”learnt what I thought I knew. This is fun, very productive – AND SO EASY! Finally, this year, completed the seven-zone (so far) fully automated drip irrigation system. Proper watering is the biggest part of the green thumb. This is one of the many timers we got from Amazon. Very well-made plastic and metal components and their assembly. Large easy to read AND UNDERSTAND LCD display, one single knob, and control buttons. Very easy to read manual. I did not need to read it first – read it later to see if I had missed anything. I have both the 1-zone and this 2-zone timer from Rainpoint. Almost identical except the two zones’ two metal outlets here, and one more button on the front to switch between the two zones when programming. Load the batteries on the back, the unit comes alive. Click, click – normal. Turn the dial=round knob=knob to “Set Clock”, set the current time. Rotate knob to accept/set. Turn dial to “Start Time”, set the start time for that zone. Turn knob to accept/set. Move knob to “How Long”, set duration. Choose between hours and minutes from the + or – button. Press OK to move between hours and minutes. Move knob to “How Often” to (set the previous knob setting) and choose how often/frequent you want the same action to be repeated. Press the Ok button to see the Days and Hours options to choose. Turn knob to “ON”, now you are ready to go. The whole process is easier than my description just above. Want to set the second zone now? Choose the same process as above, just press the “Zone” button to choose the second zone in each of the steps as above. At each step, just keep an eye on the LCD display to be sure which of the zones you are programming. Now, the dial selector arrow is pointing at ON. You will see the LCD display show the battery level on the top right side, and the current time and the “NEXT” time the zone will be activated = timer opening up the valve within to let water out from that zone. That’s it! If we had these ten years back, I would not have given up on the whole backyard vegetable lot. No worries, I am already moving forward with the drip irrigation system and the timers in other ways, for example, my expectation of the vegetables output and speed from every plant.

Fully program two separate zones with unique watering schedules
RAINPOINT 2-Zone Sprinkler Timer: This timer is perfect for watering two different areas of your yard. Whether you’re watering lawns that have one section in the sun, with the other section in the shade, or if you wish to water your lawn and garden independently, this 2-zone timer gives you the power to control each zone’s watering amount and frequency independently. There are two sets of instructions included in the box. A quick start guide and a full instruction book. Both offer excellent instructions with pictures, making the setup and operation easy. This sprinkler controller has a large display screen, so it’s easy to see your settings. As you rotate the knob to switch settings, the screen displays the required info, so it’s very easy to follow along and program. Once you set the timer’s clock, you can then program each zone, to turn the water on at a set time, with a set frequency and for a certain amount of time. Both zones can run together, or at different times. This way, you can tailor your watering schedule to the needs of each zone without overwatering. If after you’ve set everything up and you find each zone is getting too much or not enough water, you can easily go back through the settings and make adjustments. You can increase or decrease the watering time and or interval, to fine tune your watering to your yard’s needs. There is also a delay button, so you can pause a watering session on either or both zones, if it happens to be raining. You can also manually turn on either or both zones, if you wish to add extra watering for whatever reason. The timer will then resume it’s normal programming after you rotate the knob to off to stop the manual watering cycle, then back to on, so it will be ready for the next programmed setting. This sprinkler controller has brass fittings on both ends for better connections to your hoses. It comes with a rubber washer with a screen filter for a secure, leak-free connection to your tap. They even include a spare filter washer plus Teflon tape, for drip-free connections. The hoses both thread easily on to each male connection and can also be removed easily. This sprinkler timer is waterproof, so it’s designed to be left outdoors. You can mount it wherever it is convenient for you, either from the tap, or where your two zones split off, if you run a hose from your tap. This is a solid, well made device, that can completely turn the water off when the watering session ends. It won’t waste any of your water by dripping when it should be off. Then, when a watering session begins, this device will turn on either or both zones fully (as programmed by you), with an internal click that opens each valve via battery power. Batteries are not included, so you’ll need to provide two AA batteries for this device to work. If your yard has areas that have different watering needs, this 2-zone controller is ideal for you. Once you setup your hoses and program the timers, you’ll never have to worry about remembering to water your lawn and/or garden again.

I'm Impressed!
I'm quite happy with this item so far! We have one outdoor tap that needs to service both our front and back yards. This device allows us to have one hose going each direction AND have a timer that will accommodate each! Setup of the timer was really intuitive and although there are instructions provided, they weren't really needed for most of the process. The need for two AA batteries (not included) was a bit of a surprise as the product description is lacking, but I had batteries so it was not a big deal. The battery compartment seems quite protected from moisture. Connection to the water supply and hoses was simple, even with our quick connect attachments, but as others have mentioned, there is a lot of plastic. I do fear that the timer body won't handle much wear and tear before one of the necks becomes damaged. Overall, I'm happy with my order and look forward to consistent watering this summer thanks to the help of this device!

Very Impressive Water Timer
I really like this water timer from RAINPOINT as it is so intuitive to use and it works great as well. The timer comes with some teflon tape and a spare filter with a washer. Two manuals are included, a quick start guide and a more in-depth manual. Two AA batteries are required for this timer to work and unfortunately they are not included. This timer is pretty versatile and I can set it to water as short as every hour to every 7 days and I can water for as short as 1 minute to 3 hours and 59 minutes. The timer has smart programming, for example, if I set the timer to start every two hours then I can only set the "How Long" setting to under 2 hours. The timer does make a noticeable snap when turning on and off and/or switching between the two zones. When the timer is "ON", the current time is displayed followed by the status of zone 1 and zone 2. If the water is not running, the status of zone 1 and 2 shows at what time they will start. If water is running for zone 1, the status shows how much longer the water will run for zone 1 followed by when zone 2 will start. The timer is always providing real time information that I can see within 10 seconds. The delay option is neat. Pressing and holding the delay button gives me three options to select from: 24, 48 or 72 hours. When selected, the time is no longer shown on the display but the countdown in hours and minutes before the timer will start up again. Pressing and holding the delay button a 2nd time, terminates the delay mode. The timer does not turn off the display when in the 'Off' position so the batteries are always in play. I did try fully charged Ni-MH batteries in this timer and they do work but since they start at 1.2 volts, the timer shows them as low and must be replaced. If the batteries get too low, the timer will shut off and my programming will be lost but RAINPOINT has included a super feature within this timer. Before the batteries are completely dead, I can remove the batteries from the timer and insert new ones without losing my program and the set time. From my tests, I must get the new batteries inserted within 55 seconds. The only thing that I do not like with this timer is there is no 'Stop Time'. I plan to reseed my front yard this spring and since it is very important to keep the seed damp for germination, I would need to turn on the water every 2 hours or so for about 10 minutes. I normally do this between 9 AM and 5 PM when the sun is the hottest for 7 to 14 days. It turns out this timer can do this task great but since there is no stop time, the timer will continue to water at 7PM, 9PM and 11PM. I will need to go out and turn the dial to Off after the 5PM watering and back on in the morning before 9AM which is not that bad as the timer takes care of the rest of the day. Overall, a super timer that will save me loads of time this spring.
