I suppose I'm a huge fan of Japanese Fiction now! This book was such a relaxing and uplifting read and so full of hope.The book is made up of six short stories about people of different ages, each with their own unique circumstances. I think every reader will find at least one character that they can relate to. I really enjoyed making the connections between the characters as the stories eventually intertwined. I could read this book again and again and get a different message each time.Overall I found the book moving, inspirational and wholesome. Would definitely recommend.

I loved learning little snippets about Japanese life. Love the format of the book of the different chapters for each character story and their lives. To summarise each character ends up visiting the librarian who recommends them an unexpected book which changes their life in some way, it highlights the small simple things in life that bring you joy and helps the characters to see things from a different perspective. Highly enjoyable, made me smile a lot.

A really sweet novel. As this is an amazon review I won't do a full book review but this book is cosy and heartwarming. It's also set in smaller stories with recurring chapters so it's easy to pause and come back to and keeps you interested

The book I received is the correct book; however, I specifically wanted the Christmas cover as pictured in the first image. I didn’t check the other images -my mistake - as I assumed it would be the item pictured. No issues with the book or delivery, but using the Christmas cover as the first image is misleading.

I love this book. It's simple on the face of it but several of the tales really made me relate the characters to myself and my life. The writing, despite being a translation from Japanese, flows well and the characters engage. The characters interconnecting was an added nice touch.
