The spreader tool worked great

I have many VWs that use the pinch style knuckles that I have struggled to get the front struts out of. When my atlas needed struts I decided to get this and OMG it made it so easy. I wish I had bought this sooner.

I used this on a VW Tiguan to change the front strut assemblies. Worked like a charm! It is a small little piece but good metal! Very easy to use and couldn't be happier with the tool!

This is a sturdy and great lil tool, thought it feel flimsy but it’s well built. So far works like a charm.

This tool came in very handy when I changed out my hub assembly. It does not fit fully into the strut hub assembly because the strut has a metal ear that runs down the side of the strut that the mounting bolts runs through but this tools goes in far enough to spread the hub assembly at the strut to relieve the clamp pressure around the strut . Definitely was a time saver and great little tool to help in disassembly and assembly. You could do the same thing with a cold chisel but this is a much safer way to take the hub assembly apart from the strut in my opinion. Gave it 4 stars because it did not fully insert into the hub assembly to split the hub from the strut but went in far enough to get the job done.

Build quality value for money size ease of removal durability

The metal flexes while trying to spread the knuckle, then shoots out with incredible force, sending the two halves flying off in different directions. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS TOOL WHILE FACING YOUR DIRECTION.Instead, run the knuckle bolt backwards through the threaded side into a plate in between the knuckle bolt ears. Solid, reliable, and basically free.Do not buy this.

I do like this one, but there’s another style with a thinner opening on the other side. This one doesn’t seem to fit into most styles of struts
