Can I use met posts to secure it to the ground... If so, what size are the upright timbers?

THE ITEM IS SO HEAVY THAT IT DOES NOT NEED SECURING TO THE GROUND. IT TAKES ABOUT FOUR MEN TO MOVE IT

Does the roof let in water as through the winter i want to leave my bbq outside

The roof is water tight but as there are no solid sides or back, you’d be best getting a cover for your BBQ unless you have it against a wall in a sheltered place. Rain coming at an angle will hit your BBQ. The shelter itself is brilliant! I absolutely love mine. It’s solid and it’s a great area to cook under.

Will this shelter, used alone, protect the barbeque from rust? Or do I also need to continue using my fabric cover?

I would still use a cover as the shelter is open at the sides etc

Can you change height dimension

Sorry, it can not be cganged, all pre-drilled and ready to go. A lovely BBQ shelter, great quality.
