would this head work well for my Pork Pie birch/maple wood snare drum 13x7 trying to get a very snappy sound out of it as close to the marching snare

Evans actually has a marching style head for drum set called the frosted Hybrid. For a 13” snare you’ll want part number B13MHG. For a 14” snare you’ll use B14MHG.

Does this head sound good on a wood snare? Since it's a kevlar weave would it eat away at the bearing edge?

It sounded pretty good. I used for a military drum and bugle corp.

This head is sick!

The media could not be loaded. Provides quite a high pitched but controlled sound for my snare. I use the Joey Jordison snare. This head is very durable! It can take some pummeling tooI would recommend it for extreme metal 🤟
