Okay solar walkway lights
Maybe the best way to say this is these are good outdoor solar lights for the cost…a step above discount store cheapies, but not super bright or super reliable. A couple quit working in less than a month, and by the end of the second month, we were down to 8 of the original 12…though one of those kept coming back to life from time to time for a few nights. I sorta expected this level of functioning, so I'm neither disappointed nor complaining. You generally get what you pay for with things, so this is just a heads-up to set your expectations at a reasonable price/performance level.

Change battery if doesn't work
I love the ambiance this light set gives to the pathway at my Summer home. They are not overly bright but I did not expect them to bed. They are sturdy and feel durable. The end of the stake is sharp and can be easily pushed into the ground. These are a great price for the number of lights. I did discover that there are batteries inside and when they stop working it is an easy battery change. They stay lit for approx 6 hours when fully charged. Easy assembly.

Nice as I expected
I love how bright these are. The design of them is pretty sweet too. I used these in the backyard in one area to follow a little path. They charged up nicely where they were too. I never had any issues with any of them. I been using them since June and hopefully a lot more.

Great lighting for your walkway
Technology is just great! The notion that geese things charge themselves during the day and then - when they notice the sin is gone - they turn on. That’s good. Right? Right! The best thing about these is that they are not all hitched together - they work independently and can be set up in whatever way you want. In a row? Great. On the other side of the house? No problem. They work for you and with you for what we you need. The choice of colors is great - you can be a “cool LED” person or a “warm light” person and they have got you covered. Battery life is good, I’ve looked out at almost all hours and they always seem to be on when they should, brightly lighting the walkway, as is their job.The stakes work well and allow you to give them a firm foundation in the ground and I am not concerned about them leaning away and looking ridiculous. They are just what I needed and I am glad to have them on our walkway.

Not for walkways
These are very attractive lights, in my opinion. What I like about them is their shape & the design of their lenses. If your decorating style is Arts & Crafts, Mission or Oriental, these will fit right in. They evoke a feeling of these styles, however, they are basic enough that they'd look attractive with almost any style. The solar panel sits on top of what looks like a roof & on all sides they have a window pane appearance. They're a little on the small side. I'd like them more if they were a half inch bigger all around. They come with posts that are in pieces & need to be assembled. Then you add the light portion to the top of the post. When you remove the top of the light, you'll see switch inside that you must turn to the on position for them to operate. They assemble easily. They emit a soft white light. The window panes on them have a frosted looking lens. It looks like paper when they're on. They are very pretty, but they are not bright enough to illuminate a walkway. I'm assuming that is due to the shaded lenses. Still, they're very attractive. Instead of using them for our walkway, I placed them in the garden. They don't light up the plants, but they add a pretty touch to what would otherwise be a dark garden. You get a whole dozen of them in the box, which is very nice, especially if you're using them in the garden. We have a garden along the entire side of our house, including around two sides of the driveway near the house. I opted to install these in a casual arrangement, rather than a straight line. They're arranged at different distances from the front of the garden.A couple of issues I have, in addition to them not being bright enough to illuminate a path is their cost. They're normally list for $39.99, which in my opinion is outrageously high. However, at the time of this review they're on sale for $23.99. If you have a desire to use them for decorative purposes, I'd recommend getting them now. You can't beat 50 cents apiece. I wouldn't recommend them for use as pathway lights. As mentioned above, they're a bit on the small side. Though I like the look of the frosted lenses, they don't shine enough light to actually brighten a path. I'd suggest the manufacturers make them a bit bigger, 1/2" on each side (or 1" wider & taller). I'd also suggest treating the lenses in a different way. They definitely need to be clear, but the lenses could be faceted, or even designed with a partially frosted design that would allow some of the bright light to shine onto a walkway.Another suggestion I would make is to mold the steaks so that the points on the ends are not separate pieces. I found when arranging them, it I wanted to shift one of the lights to give a more balanced & artistic effect, the points would stay in the soil. Since the stakes are being pushed down into the soil, the point comes off below ground & is difficult to retrieve. If you absolutely needed to add a smaller piece, it would be more consumer friendly to add it to the middle or top of the stake. If the issue is shipping a bunch of sharp stakes, you could manufacture them with a small piece of tubing that fits at the top, for example, that could be slipped over the point of the stake during shipping (as opposed to inverting the small points & inserting them into the poles to protect them) & then assembling them with that short piece on the top or the middle of the stake.I do like these a lot. They are a very attractive design. They just need a few tweaks to their size & construction. If that was done, so that they actually did illuminate a path, I'd have no problem paying $40.00 for 12 lights like this. That is a good price for so many lights, at $3.33 each. In the past, I've had to buy two or three sets to add lighting to my pathway.
