This is my go to scanner, the first thing I pull out of the drawer when diagnosing something. I previously had an older model that only cleared codes and did live data, but upgraded to this one to take advantage of the new features. Starting off, this unit is touchscreen which is a really nice addition, and it gets plenty bright. With the auto detect feature, plugging it into the vehicle automatically pulls the vin, and then scans all the modules and creates a report you can save for yourself, or send to a customer in a pinch thanks to its wifi capabilites. This scanner also features heavily needed functions for today's modern vehicles, such as parking brake maintenance mode, ABS bleeding, and battery maintenance reset. I find myself using it for these functions multiple times a week. This scanner also can do FCA auto auth which is necessary for newer chryslers. The live data can be useful to determine active faults or failing components, as well as sensors not reading properly. Lifetime updates ensure this thing won't be a brick in a year's time, in a world where most scan tools require a yearly subscription. At the price point, this scanner is marketed twords the DIY person, but the functionality rivals that of some more expensive scanners, while still providing an easy to use interface. To sum it up, you can't find a better value scanner for the money, especially one that updates over wifi, is touch screen, and has the features this does.

The Launch CRP123X V2.0 is a great tool for generating DTC reports, viewing live data, and accessing most vehicle systems. However, it’s important to note that this unit is not a true bi‑directional scanner, even though it does offer some active test capabilities. It can perform functions such as throttle relearn, ABS relearn, ABS bleeding, and similar procedures.

The LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner is super easy to use and works great. It connected fast, gave accurate codes, and helped me figure out my car issue in minutes instead of paying a shop. The screen is clear, the menus are simple, and it feels solid quality for the price. Definitely worth it for anyone who wants to keep track of their vehicle without the headache.

I have LAUNCH scanners specific to Mercedes and really like them. They are extremely functional and provide more capability than expected for the price. I tried the CRP123X, and it does cover virtually all makes and models. However, the scans cover only basic modules unless you unlock your specific car brand with an annual subscription. This is a little misleading for me. In my case, scanning my car I know that there are 58 modules detected by using the Mercedes-specific scanner, but the CRP123X will only report on 8 or 9 modules unless I purchase a subscription. My advice is to get the version of LAUNCH Creader scanner specific to your vehicle. If you have a different brand, you can always add a subscription for your other car brand through the Mall.

I was really disappointed with the Launch brand. After researching OBD scanners, I settled with Launch since there were so many positive reviews. The problems I had with the device were the extended duration time to scan my car and having to pay for options such checking the battery voltage which seems to be free with other lower priced scanners. I could not get the Health Report to load on my iPhone. I literally waited over an hour for the device to scan my car (yes, I updated the software). Customer support was adequate, but only to inform me that I need to purchase an android device for the scanner to work as designed. On a separate chat with customer support to check battery voltage, I was informed that I had to purchase an accessory to attach to the scanner. I finally returned the scanner when the device did not power on after not using it for a week.
