The Green Queen of Mean: Princess Candy

My daughter found a book in this series in her school library and she liked it.She finds the books "interesting where Princess Candy dresses like a super hero". In the back of the book, she really likes the princess puzzlers which are questions and answers. According to her "it's not too girly or too boyish".It's a graphic novel that has great pictures throughout. She's able to read it independently and she reads at the 2nd grade level.

Great condition and great price!

My daughter picked this book. She liked the drawings, and I agree that they were probably the best part- though there are certainly better graphic novel illustrations out there. Neither of us really liked the story, which was hard to follow and had confusing messages. Maybe there's more to the series that explains why these characters take some kind of pills and turn into something else? Reading just this book, it felt way too much like a drug reference, even though the title indicates it's candy. The plot (as minimal as there is) includes an environmental message about recycling. The title character is mean, sending a flower to attack others (I know that sounds dumb, but that's the plot!). My daughter was confused about that whole thing.Skip this book. You can definitely find better.
