It provides you with continuous power, so you no longer have to worry about frequent charging and can enjoy a long-lasting battery life Powered by Android 14, Smart Upgrade The OUKITEL WP35 is equipped with the latest Android 14 operating system. The redesigned user interface is more intuitive and user-friendly, with enhanced multitasking capabilities. Whether for work or entertainment, it offers you the most advanced Android experience available Review: Long lasting and decently sized with minor caveats - Let me break down the good, the bad, and the eh of this smartphone: THE GOOD: * Huge battery. I used it for a day or two and it seems based on my usage (internet browsing, checking messages, light use of Youtube, etc), the battery drains by 15% in a day and almost doesn't drain at all when I am not using it. I can go for a while without charging, which is what I want out of a smartphone. * Comes installed with Android 14. A lot of midrange phones tend to be one generation behind in OSes and not all of them get updates to the current OS, so i was pleasantly surprised to see this phone come with the latest Android OS. It still needed an update or two, but that was mostly for the latest security patches. * Decently sized and good build quality. It's a little bigger than the average smartphone, but it's thin enough to fit in my pockets and it's not too heavy. The larger screen size makes it easier to read things. The build of the phone itself does feel rugged as it claims to be. The back has a diamond pattern, making it easy to hold and won't retain smudgy fingerprints. * Camera is pretty good. I took a few pics and they're pretty decent for what the phone boasts. It also has a macro option for super up close photos and night vision mode to take pics at night. They're ok, but I don't really use them since I don't need them. THE BAD: * No headphone jack. While I am not personally bothered by it, I know a lot of people will swear by a headphone jack and this can be a dealbreaker. There are USB to headphone jack adapters out there at least. * No SD card slot. You're stuck with the phone's 256GB of internal storage. If you use a lot of apps, take lots of pics, or record lots of videos, you might want to find another phone that lets you expand your storage. * Screen near impossible to see under sunlight. If it's a bright sunny day outside, it's hard to see the screen even if it's set to max brightness. THE MEH: * Almost useless custom/smart key. The phone has a red button the left that the manual dubs as a "smart key". It's basically a custom button that you can assign any gesture or action towards, but by default, the OS doesn't have an option to let you customize it. There are apps out there that can let you assign a command or the like for the button. * Fixed grid size. By default, the grid size on the screen is 4x5 and it cannot be adjusted unless you use an app that lets you customize your home screen, such as Nova Launcher. * The default clock. It's set to a 24 hour format, but it can be changed to 12 hours. The date format it shows is DD/MM/YYYY and it can't be changed unless you want to use a different clock app. * Bleh speakers. They're at the bottom of the phone and they don't sound too impressive, almost tinny-like. * Fingerprint sensor is on the power button, making it a bit finicky to activate. Would have preferred to have it on the back of the phone instead. Review: Great phone, exactly what I expected - Had this phone for a whole week and feel confident i have run it through its paces. I got this to replace a CAT62 that lasted me almost two years, but got ran over, tough but not that tough. My must haves in a new phone. A phone I didn't immediately have to remove preloaded programs and games I've never played before. Needed to be 5G on T-Mobile compatible The phone needs to survive my harsh work environment. Rain/Heat/Impacts/Vibrations First things first 100% compatible with T-Mobile 5G in Houston and surrounding areas. Most current OS, more features than they list, even an underwater camera mode, which I think is going beyond a claim of "Waterproof" to "We expect you to submerge this and use it". . . First day I used GPS for 10 hours, played podcast over bluetooth for 16 hours and installed 37 of my old apps (Banking, food, work, messaging) and set up the phone over 18 hours. Started from factory at 90% battery at 5 Am, ran it till midnight and I got it down to 56%. . . . More battery than I could conceivably need for a 24 hour period, I tried to kill it and it laughed. It is heavy and I don't see a lot of case options for it, but I kinda think that is by design, all a case would do is prevent body scratches on the back. I think they updated the software because you can change the time and format now, quick-key is programmable now for single, double, and long press. Comes with a few preloaded utilities, but nothing like a factory T-Mobile phone, Thank God!! I've put my old 32G SD card from my old phone in it just to have my files, but with this much memory it is unnecessary. Initial speed test on T-Mobile was 376mbps/65mbps and it was faster than my Nord N200 on 5G by about 30% downloading media or loading large files from testfiles-dot-org. Never worry again if you have space for that file, space for that app, or speed for the video or task, the answer is now YES. Criticism Speakerphone is not loud Factory case is meh. The phone restricts programs from draining resources in the background without prior authorization. If it deems the program is restricting performance it simply restricts it and lets you know so you can make an exception if you want it to, but doesn't ask, it restricts then ask after the fact. Once authorized it puts it on a safe list. In conclusion, I would buy another with no regrets, my impression is "It is the swiss army knife of phones, and even though it is large and heavy, it is worth it every day. If nothing else, in the land of $1k phones, this is a phone that will make others take a second look.

Highs and lows
Battery life was great. Weight was expected and not an issue. The build and look of the phone was surprisingly exceptional. The volume was rather low... Phone calls and videos. The phone was great until it came to connectivity. It wouldn't pair with my car or truck! The android auto wouldn't connect. If it wasn't for that... I would keep it.

bad phone
I was hoping it was a good phone, since I had very good reviews on the internet. However, I began to notice after two days that my signal was not working well. I usually have T-Mobile. I couldn't even receive text messages, much less my apps were working, I could only receive calls. It is for this reason that I decided to start the return and refund ...

Read if you have issues connecting with TMobile data
I have wanted to get a rugged phone for a few years, but the reviews have really been mixed and it seemed like you had to give up some features in order to get the rugged design. I came across this one and the specs seemed on par (if not much better like included RAM) with other non-rugged phones at a comparable price point so I thought I would give it a try. In the beginning I loved a lot about it. The back textured pattern (I got the green color) was neat and looked almost like scales, and I was glad it came with a clear case so you could still see it with the case on. Although still not sure why a flimsy silicone case is needed for a rugged phone, but I assume to prevent scratches on the exterior so I keep it on. The biggest positive, especially after only using Samsung phones for years, is that there was really no bloatware!!! This is HUGE for me considering a new Samsung phone will come with at least a 1/3 (if not more) of the storage already taken up by all the crap Samsung puts on there that you can't uninstall for more space. It's a racket and I was very excited when I checked the actually storage on this phone, which was basically only system files not irrelevant apps. This phone also allows you the option of Memory expansion: essentially allowing you to allocate some of the ROM storage space for RAM, thus speeding up processes on the phone. It is on the heavier side, which is going to be a big change if you have been using any smart phone in the last 5 years since they seem to want to get thinner and thinner, but I like the increased weight. It makes it feel more substantial and not as breakable. I haven't really tested out the durability yet since I have only dropped it from a short distance and it has never made direct contact with a hard surface, but it has survived me squeezing it from utter frustration from not being able to connect to the internet without connecting to Wi-Fi instead of running through my 5g phone service. More on that later. BATTERY was great in the beginning, would last a few days before needing to be charged, but after a couple months it has dropped quite a bit. I try using the battery saver option, but no matter what settings I adjust on certain apps, the phone will automatically override them when the saver is on. This has affected my alarm app, causing my alarms not to go off so I just keep the battery saver off these days. CAMERA is ok. The specs imply that it should take much better pictures than it does. The 64 MP option creates a slightly better image, but you have to hold the phone steady for at least 5 seconds for it to actually take the photo. So if you are trying to take a picture of anything moving, don't use this setting. It also doesn't let you zoom out. My last phone, Samsung A53 5g would let you zoom out by placing fingers on the edges of the screen and bringing them together in the middle (opposite of zooming in where fingers start in the middle and then spread out), this one doesn't do that. I am not sure what spec this would be and how to compare it to others, but all I know is that no matter the picture size I use it won't get the whole scene without me having to physically move much farther back than I would have had to with other phones. For 3 giant camera lenses on the back, they seem to be more for show than function. Developer mode: it is cool that the phone comes with the developer mode (in settings) already allowed so no need to hunt for the magical sequence needed to unlock this mode. I haven't changed much in there because I am not that familiar with a lot of the functions in there, but those that are might find it beneficial. As for the SIDE BUTTONS, it is more customizable than other phones I have used, but still has some limitations. Another reviewer mentioned the red side button on the left side not being customizable, but it is, you just have to know how to find the settings which are in a different place than any other phone I have used before. In Settings, at the top there are 2 words: Settings and Function. You need to click the Function option and it will take you to a different page. In the top left you will see Smart Key, that is where you can customize the side red button. (see photo #1) Now for the biggest issue and the reason why I only gave 2 stars: the CONNECTION to TMobile. Everything was working fine the first couple weeks, then randomly I wouldn't be able to access YouTube Music when I would leave my house unless I restarted my phone. Not ideal, and got pretty annoying since the phone takes at least a few minutes to load back up. Then it became the norm for it not to connect when not on Wi-Fi and that was just not acceptable considering I pay a lot to have unlimited 5g with TMobile so I was not about to have a phone that wouldn't let me use it. At first I tried taking out my SIM card and using the other slot since there were 2. That worked for a little while but in a few days the same thing kept happening so I reached out to the company. The person who replied to my email couldn't help, they suggested I try a new SIM card tray so they sent me another one. I knew this wouldn't do anything but I humored them so we could move on to something else when it didn't work. While I was waiting for the new tray, I asked Chatgbt to help me troubleshoot and we came up with the fix.... IT'S THE APN!!!!!! To get to APN settings: Open Settings- then go to SIm card & mobile data- then choose Mobile network- then T-Mobile- then click Advanced on the bottom under 4G calling- then scroll all the way to the bottom and click APNs. Check the APN listed and compare it to the information below. If it matches the info under Oukitel and not TMobile, then you need to create a new APN by clicking the + sign on the APNs page in settings (see photo 2 for complete information or search TMobile APN on the internet and find the list on TMobile website.) I recommend naming it whatever will make it easier to differentiate it from the default one on the phone. The APN that Oukitel uses for TMobile isn't correct, at least the one on my phone wasn't, so I manually added a new APN with the info from TMobile's website. The main differences (for my phone) were: Oukitel TMobile the APN Protocol IPv6 IPv4/IPv6 Bearer Too many to list Unspecified Both are important depending on the network you are connecting to, but with Oukitel not having the Bearer set as unspecified, it was causing all kinds of issues with connecting properly. Now if I have trouble getting on the internet while not on wifi, I have to go the APN settings and manually select the APN I created, then go to the drop down menu screen (pull down from the top right-pulling down from the top left gets you to the notification drop down) and click on the Internet button (top left next to Bluetooth), then toggle T-Mobile to off then back on. That will usually get me back online without having to restart my phone, but seeing as I have to manually do the job the phone should be doing automatically, I deducted 3 stars. The most irritating part is that the fix would prob not require me to manually choose my APN every time if I was able to delete the wrong APN, but you can't. Because of course you can't. After using the phone for about 6 months, I can say that I am making it work (mostly because I am too cheap to buy another new phone within a year of the last one) but I am not impressed. It does have some good features like storage and customizable options, but the negatives overtake the positives hands down. I should not have had to spend so many countless hours trying to make this phone do what it promised to do, connect to T-Mobile 5g, or suffer through trying to calm the blind rage I felt when it didn't work so I wouldn't take a bat and Office Space it. At this point, I would not recommend this phone or purchase another from the same brand again.

A good smartphone for the money
I find this to be a good phone and with a long battery. Plus it is a sturdy one and you don't have to worry about the little things. The only problem I found at this point is it takes a while for a photo to take. But I bought this more for a work-based thing and it seems to be what I was looking for. Plus I think it is great for the price and a lot better than what you can find at some of the stores when you're trying to buy a phone as you're getting a service. The Android system works great and is smooth, I have not really tested the memory capacity at this point, and the screen is very clear. I would definitely recommend this to someone that needs a good work phone.

Excellent phone for the money. one is not compatible with T mobile upgraded Network
I purchased another brand of phone because it had everything I wanted in a phone. After transferring data from one phone to the other it kept giving me a message no network found. I plugged the IMEI of this phone into the T-Mobile site. The phone IMEI came back compatible. The OUKITEL W 35 was a suitable replacement for me. Before taking the phone out of the box I ran the IMEI number on T-Mobile's website and this phone is compatible with the T-Mobile Network. I then had to transfer the data from the previous phone which erased all my passwords to the new phone. After setting it up I can now make a phone call from my house. Don't go what I went through, find a compatible phone and run the IMEI number in T-Mobile search box to verify that it is what it says it is before making a purchase. This phone takes the best pictures of all the phones I've had. The battery life is excellent. So far so good, you should be satisfied with this unit.

Awesome, ready for adventure!
This is the most compact and lightest rugged phone with water rating and an 11000 mAh battery I have found. I have been searching for such a phone for hiking and travel where space and weight are a concern and this packs plenty of power in a normal size case, not an obscene heavy pack(those are cool too and have their purposes). Also, the camera is stellar so that means I can take decent photos as well. Very happy with this phone. What would make it perfect is if it had a larger lamp or area light for night camping. Overall a solid buy.
