I have a Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS. It is probably from 2011 or maybe earlier. The original battery (this model) had been in use that entire time and it is only recently that it started not lasting as long as it should, so I ordered this one. I opted for this instead of an off brand, even though it cost more, because I have heard too many horror stories lately of counterfeit/cheaper batteries doing things like catching fire! What I received appears to be genuine (order was placed in March 2016 directly from Amazon and not a third party). It looks just like the old camera battery and fits in/works with the old charger. (I charge it overnight -- it doesn't actually take overnight, but then I don't have to sit and wait for it to finish.) It lasts much longer than my old battery. I haven't really been keeping track of how long but that is going to depend largely on your camera settings -- whether you use the digital viewfinder (I have to), the flash (I do sometimes), whether you record videos, how much you review your photos on the viewfinder screen, etc. Since I was doing the same sorts of activities with the old battery, if I get a few more days out of this, I am happy.

Acquistando la fotocamera ho trovato la batteria originale in questione a poco più di 2 euro; non ho potuto non comprarla!!! Ottimo servizio e ottimo prodotto

This Canon battery was the legitimate replacement/spare I needed for our African Safari. The battery was for our Point & Shoot that my husband uses, while I was shooting our DSLR (also a Canon). When you are in the bush for almost 3 weeks, electricity for charging your camera is not always available, so the spare was often needed. I did not purchase the Canon knock-offs that cost quite a bit less because I had read some reviews on their poor performance. And I checked to make sure that this battery was not a cheap knock-off that was offered at a higher price. When you are far from home in an area you probably will never see again, you want the pictures to turn out well. With our 2,000 point and shoot and 2,000 DSLR photos, we captured everything in sight & have been able to enjoy and share them many times; even with our fellow travelers. So stick with the real thing--your pictures are important!

It's hard to beat an OEM battery at about half the price you would have to pay at a local big box store. I have experienced satisfactory charge and run time for this battery in my Canon SD600. One thing to note: This was ordered with the "Super Saver Shipping". No problem, but I did notice like many other Amazon reviewers, that the order was listed as "shipped" almost a week before it actually entered the mail system. Amazon tracking said "shipped" but USPS tracking said they had been notified of a pickup request but that the item was not yet in their posession. And, as it turns out, wouldn't be for another 5 days. Anyway, the point is that there is a slightly misleading perception being generated by Amazon that your order is on it's way when in fact it is really sitting on their loading dock (or elsewhere) waiting for a weekly bulk pickup. And once it is "shipped", according to them, you can't cancel it, no matter how long it takes for a courier to actually pick it up off the dock.
