This knife is perfect for the novice carver
Always had trouble carving a standing rib roast. Ending up cutting thick slices and having shredded edges on the slices of meat. Not any more! This knife is perfect for the novice carver. Got thin slices with perfect edges. Got compliments on the presentation. Price is modest compared to other comparable carving knives. A little surprised that the knife was made in China but that didn't seem to matter. I've had carving knifes made in Germany and some old ones in the US that were terrible. Be a sport and buy the Ergo Edge Protector for $5.93. It's a good device and the carving knife has a very sharp blade. It protects the edge of the knife and your fingers. I can't wait to try it on a turkey or chicken breast. I've always made a mess of carving them.

Buy this knife!!
Well made knife, blade is strong and sharp. Handle is shaped perfectly and is easy to grip without slipping. It did need a few passes through my ergo-steel to hone the edge, but after that it sliced through my ribs and brisket with ease. I did purchase an edge guard since it is so long and didn't want it just sitting in a drawer where it could be nicked and damaged. Great knife for the value, definitely recommended!

Make sure you sharpen it prior to use!!!
So, my husband and I had a brisket cook-off and he used this knife on his brisket and said a lot of sawing was involved. Afterwards he sharpened it like crazy and when it came to my brisket it was perfect to use!! It cut right through the meat and I could make thin slices without a lot of effort. So, take-home message, sharpen this knife before use but once you do it is sturdy and great for use on brisket!

They don't seem like they were cut from the same mold regarding styling
its a good"set" in that they are both quality pieces but i think pairing them together was an afterthought. They don't seem like they were cut from the same mold regarding styling. you can plainly see that the handles are different. Other than that the slicer seems to be very sharp and designed well. the fork is heavy and seems to be quality. the prongs are not as sharp as i had expected. overall two quality pieces that will do the job well

Well worth the money!
Better than I expected. Nice sturdy design, weighs more than I expected in a good way. Nice solid handle and blade. I'vesliced brisket and bread so far and it preformed great. I ran it across a sharpener and it took an edge like a champ. Oh, also great at slicing watermelon with its long blade. I would recommend this knife.

Great quality!!
I'm a former Chef and have used slicers throughout my career. I've only used longer length slicers but wanted a shorter one for home use. This slicer has a nice heft to it and arrived razor sharp. The handle is very comfortable for me but I have smaller hands. It might be too small for those with large hands.

Great quality for the price!
I watch a lot of YouTube cooks and have seen many use a similar knife when slicing meat. I did a bit of research and based on the reviews I bought this knife. I have to say that any decent quality knife will attain a sharp edge if you know how to sharpen it. This one is no exception. It was decently sharp when it arrived and I've been able to get a great edge on it. It slices through the toughest meat like butter. It's very useful being able to slice through a large steak or brisket with ease.

Slices meat thin, the right tool for deli style meat slices
I spent the last two weeks doing research on how to achieve thin meat slices looking at $300-700 dollar meat slicers. The conclusion was I should give a slicing knife a try and I settled on the Ergo Chef for value and couldn't be more thrilled. It's an excellent tool, very well-designed and I look forward to slicing more roasts with it. I sliced a pork loin very thin and you know when you have the right tool. The difference between a chef's knife (even razor sharp) is significant. No need for electric meat slicer with this.
