Does this have chicken nuggets as one of the cards? Thanks

No, it does not have chicken nuggets as one of the cards. It shows a grilled chicken breast.

How many food pieces are included with this game? I only see a few in the picture provided.

Good morning. There are 50 pieces featuring a variety of foods. For most kids this would work, but for our picky eater, we re- labeled foods to the ones she can not ever eat. Hope this helps. You won't regret this purchase.

Why is a 12v battery needed?

The Healthy Helpings game does not need any batteries. It uses a manual spinner on a card.
