I've been using this on my scalp, and so far, it's working well when used as directed up to four times daily. It has a strong medicated smell, and I think that’s expected with coal tar products. The most significant benefit I've noticed is that for me is that it stops my itching almost immediately. However, I do have to reapply it a couple of times a day to maintain relief, as mentioned in the directions. I'm hopeful that by the time I finish the tube, my itching and dryness and flaking will be completely gone. Overall, it's been a good solution for managing my symptoms so far. This is my own experience and I am not making any claims about the product so consult your primary care doctor before trying this if you have any concerns or questions. For me, I don't have anything bad to say about this.

This is a coal tar product now available in a clear gel form. I like it because it's lightweight and easy to use, soaking into the skin quickly. It creates a seal that protects the skin from the air and alleviates itching without being greasy. It has a tar smell that disappears after it dries. For best results, it should be applied 2 or 3 times daily. I mainly use it on my scalp. I’ve only been using it for a short time, so I'm not sure about any long-term healing properties yet.

This was my first purchase of this product. Reading other reviews, most of them comment on the smell. They got that right! It is horrible! I'm not used to the pine tar smell. I'm not sure I can get over it. If you know this before you make the purchase then it won't come as a surprise. It's not for the faint....the smell. Peeee ewwww!

Update: I guess it just took a few days to work into my system. Instead of all the psoriasis on my hand showing past results below, only 45% patches are acting that way, still not as good as Eucerin lotion which gets rid of my scaling 100% even if for a few hrs. I will continue to update, I till enjoy the easy use of the roll on. Only used this 2 days on my regular lotioned hands where I have psoriasis. After applying this roll on I watched in real time as white scaling appeared and overexposed every scar tissue to the max.I have never seen my hand look so bad. Could be I'm allergic but I use all types of coal tar soaps and shampoo and they all help. Only positive is the roll on is the best method for application and drys quick ( maybe to quick hence dringing out skin which exposes white scaling?)

This is a new product line for me. I took other's suggestions and went for the gel version. Very easy to apply and not messy or heavily scented like other things I've tried. It drys very quickly. I'm not sure if I like the roll on or not. I may try a non roll on version for comparison. I'm only using this on my elbow so far and I feel like I could get better/more even coverage applying by hand. That is a lot messier though, so roll on maybe the better solution anyway. PS...I tried to leave a more detailed review about my experience but amazon blocked it. They give no reason, so I can only assume it was the details they didn't like, either about my condition or results. Read into it what you will, I will be buying more this!
