Lifeway Low Fat Plain Kefir 32fl.oz.

I found that after the prep for a colonoscopy, my digestive system was off kilter. Drinking a cup of plain Kefir each day has made me feel much better and stronger. It is delicious.

I bought this because I was looking for good quality Kefir, which I drunk Kefir since 1976, and happy to find this. I opened the bottle and the product was overly runny at the top, with a orange color for STRAWBERRY Kefir, even after shaking. I know Kefir separates, but this looked "off" and the flavor was nasty. I ended up throwing the rest out, which was over thick to the point that it was hard to get out of the bottle: I called the company. It took me 20 minutes to get their telephone number, because it is NOT located on the bottle. The young thing answering the phone just wanted to give me a 'lecture' of how Kefir works, at no time could it be "their problem" or bad kefir! I wasn't offered any coupons or any other possible compensation for the bad product. When I mentioned that their phone number isn't on the bottle, came this explanation: Oh well, all our consumers use computers, and that was our marketing people's decision. BAD company, BAD customer service and Kefir folks should be drinkable from the container, not so thick it needs to be bowled. Would have been better even if they CARED about a having a bad product batch: it does happen!

This is not real kefir ,but rather sweetened yogurt blended with kefir culture. I bought Lifeway kefir because they were out of Helios kefir at Whole Foods. The thickness of the Lifeway kefir is about the same as Helios, but the feeling is Lifeway is much more homogenized, sweet, and not at all effervescent, as kefirs should be. If you are looking for real kefir, Lifeway is a poor substitute.

I have not tried the plain one but the berry one taste very good. I found them on sale at Kroger's and bought 6 bottles. They taste like yogurt but a little bit more sour. And it is liquid. Love it and would recommend. But the original price is way too expensive, I think. 3$ a bottle is would be about right.

I like this product because it is very nutritious and is a great addition to any diet. It is similar to yogurt because it has live bacteria cultures but it isn't as thick. It lasts a good time and can be used in many meals or snacks.

NO QUALITY CONTROL!!! I love the plain Kefir, however, the customer service is non-existent. When I called to let them know that I bought a bad Kefir, chunky and smelling strange, I was dismissed as annoying and the girl in "customer service" hung up on me. I called back to speak to a supervisor and was sent to some random voicemail with no greeting, just a beep. I TRULY DOUBT THE INTEGRITY OF THIS COMPANY! Don't buy this; instead get another brad of Kefir; there are others. LIFEWAY IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY!
